We are wanting to move up from our 1999 340.We are liking the 2000 era 410 with gassers. We are on a very small fresh water lake in Utah. Why gassers? Our local yatch club only offers gasoline.Any advise and/or leads on that vessel would much appreciated.

Google Sea Ray boats for sale in the Great Lakes. Most SRs of that size sold for use in Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana and Michigan will have 454s. Those engines work well in 400s and are very durable. Look for a boat that has water lift mufflers installed to escape water intrusion problems.

2001 410 was the first year with the new 8.1S 496. DIGITALLY ready for today's electronics! WATER LIFTS INCLUDED.

That’s good to know as I start this new adventure. So is what you’re saying is I need to look at 2001 2002 2003 models? Would it be wise to post a boat wanted ad in the classifieds here on CSR?

You can post it but your best is to get with a good broker to help you search.

If you search on Yachtworld or Boattrader there are quite a few gassers in Missouri, Kentucky, and Tennessee.

This year I moved from a '99 340 to a '97 400. If you do some reading you will find some subtle (but potentially impactful) differences between the 400 and 410.

When I initially starting shopping for my 400 I did have a hard time considering going older in model year. But ultimately a few years in either direction means very little if the boat has been well taken care of.

Good luck in your search! The 400/410 is a really fantastic boat. And though not the preferred powerplant we do seem to survive in pretty fine style with our gas engines :)

Not sure if you're still looking, OP, but another 400 popped up on Grand Rapids, MI craigslist this week. I believe it's a 97 with diesels.
