Official 2003.5-2008 340 Sundancer Thread

Maybe not aftermarket. I think I have one of those on my 2004. Just noticed it climbing around this weekend.

Thanks Kevin. Still deciding whether or not to remove it. It's only on the aft pump but seems very restrictive. I may just replace it. Thanks for all the help. You guys rock!

View attachment 60927 Hi freinds. My 340DA has some kind of check valve inline on the aft bilge pump. It seems to restrict flow and sometimes prevents anything from coming out unless I cycle the pump. Is it really necessary to have? Does it look like it's original equipment? seems like it's more hassle than it's worth. Curious to know your thoughts, thanks.
Have this on our 340DA as well, and it's a pain to get to. I understand the reasoning for it, but it looks like a great place for the "mud daubers" or some other insect to build a nest.

Time to transition to another thread ... we recently purchased a 2004 420DB which we only got to use for a few weeks before the winter layup. The timing was very unexpected, but a good opportunity to move into a larger boat for some planned longer cruises. Thanks to all, this thread has been very helpful over the past 5 years. All told, we now own 76' of boat length but plan to sell 34' of it. If anyone you know might be interested in a 2003.5 340 fresh water boat, 496, B3 in top condition pls contact me. The boat has virtually every option available from that year - we have replaced the canvas, added a camper top, replaced bulbs with LED throughout and added a anchor wash. I keep it in top condition, both inside and out.

Here is the posting: https://kingstonyachtsales.com/boat_listing.php?id=1015. It is priced in Cdn and the conversion is about $107k USD.

Does anyone know the model number for the Dometic Vacuflush toilet in the 2005 340? I need to order a new seal because the bowl doesn't hold water and I'm a hour and half away from my boat. Thank you!!!!

Happy New Year! Where is the heading sensor located on a 2004 340 SDA? I cannot seem to find it.

Mine was in the cabinet behind the mid cabin cushions, right next to electrical panel. I moved it because there is a stereo amp in there now.

Was it a factory unit? If so, what did it look like? Thanks for the input.

I don't think you would have one from the factory unless your boat came with autopilot. Looks like a small puck or gps antenna.

When I bought my boat (used), it came with a Raymarine P70R and ACU-200 Autopilot, but I can’t find the heading sensor. Quite frankly, I am not sure it has one, but assume it must since it has an autopilot installed. I’ll have to take another look.

When I bought my boat in 2015 I also installed by myself P70R, ACU200, EV1 and type 1 hydraulic pump. To use fully and freely (you shouldn't put metal objects less than 1 meter to the heading sensor to not going off of desired compass degree) the secret storage compartement at mid cabin right next to the electrical panel I put/hide the ACU200 and EV1 into the electrical panel over the inside hull behind the DC/AC panel. I can reach them by pulling out the drawer, so you may have check there.

Thanks for the response. I finally found it today after tracing some STng wires. It is an EV1 sensor. It was located behind the bench seating via a cutout in the fiberglass behind the seat back. Odd place, but at least it is at the center point of the boat and in a dry location.

Really strange location, glad you find it.

Thank you, it actually pulls very well other than being wider it kinda feels like pulling a fifth wheel.
The truck is an F-350.
Being in AZ we will probably slip her at a local lake and be taking trips up to Lake Powell annually which is where I bought it. Hard to find one with a trailer and of course the right options.
I dropped it off for new bottom paint and then I’ll bring it home and do all the maintenance, oils, impellers etc. The original owner was not very good at upkeep, luckily he only used it 2 weeks a year.

JK about the 1-250 thing. The boat and trailer just make it look so small. Once again, welcome aboard CSR and good luck with the new boat.

Just brought home my new to me ‘06 340 DA Lots of work to be done before she goes in the water again. Thanks for all the info on this siteView attachment 63778

+1 what Kevin said. Grats on a beautiful boat! :)

Also good luck with those impellers. Do yourself a favor and remove the mufflers ...especially to port.
