All - First I'd like to say, I apologize if this post goes against the rules of this forum. I'm a big CSR fan, and have a lot of respect for this forum and the CSR community. I'm not a paid advertiser on this site, but would be interested in becoming one in the near future.

I'd like to introduce the CSR community to an app I've been working on, RampScout, and to invite you all to test it out.

When trailering our Sundancer 240, my wife and I really enjoy finding new boat ramps around the state to launch from so that we could explore different areas and waterways. We are based out of the Fort Lauderdale area, and have taken the boat as far south as Marathon, and as far north (and west) as Tampa Bay. Having this kind of freedom is one of the biggest joys in having a boat that is trailerable.

Now, when trying to find a boat ramp in a new area, I would always spend quite a bit of time looking for a ramp that was secure, allowed overnight parking, and that wouldn't be so busy that we wouldn't be able to get out on the water.

In regards to boat ramps, there is a ton of information out there, but not one particular place to find it in. There are already a few apps that will help you locate boat ramps, however I have a slightly different vision than those.

My intent is to make RampScout community-driven, allowing boaters to share information in real-time about the conditions at the ramps. This will allow us to not only learn about new ramps in (and out) of our area, but will also help us figure out the best time to arrive and give us a 'heads up' of any issues at the ramp.

The initial version of RampScout was released earlier this month, and the feature-set is limited. I have many plans and ideas for the app, however I wanted to get an initial app released well before the summer rush to the ramps.

I would be honored if I could get some of the CSR folks to 'kick the tires' for me and to let me know what you think. RampScout is currently available in the Apple App Store (Android app to come). It is a paid app ( would love for it to be free, but also need to keep the servers running), however if you send me a message I will gladly send you a promo code so that you can download the app for free. All I ask is that you test it out and share your feedback with me.

Thanks for reading, and I look forward to your thoughts / feedback.

Happy New Years all!!

To anybody interested in testing out RampScout (on iOS), I'll paste a few promotional codes below that will allow you to download the app free on the Apple App Store. These are one-time codes, so you may need to test to see which ones haven't been used. I'll try to keep an eye on this post so that I can remove the codes that have already been used.

If you aren't sure how to redeem a code, this article explains how (looks a bit older, but the process should still be the same). If you have any problems, please let me know.

Thanks, and I hope everyone is having a great start to 2019!
