Mercury VesselView Mobile on sale. 45% off MSRP

Yes, I think you need the gateway version and not the mobile. The link module is even more versatile but more expensive.

View attachment 65553 Will this show me info on my GPS plotter through nema2000? I have 2004 8.1 inboard mercruisers. I have a older smartcraft now.
I think the question is not so much around the nema2000 connection but rather how new is your chart plotter and other data hungry equipment? Can your plotter understand the language from Smart Craft? I know this level of technology is available today as my buddy's 360 8.1s 2003 data can be seen on his new plotter, cell phone and wifi'd to his TVs! He can even run his new autopilot from his cell.

You'll need to call mercury or garmin to see. Its tricky as there is some guy deep in the codes that writes the languages. So it takes homework to get an answer. My buddy has the new state of the art axiom chart plotter and the newest new Vessel View hard unit. From there everything talks even to his TVs. But he did a ton of calls to get to what he wanted. Not just one person had the answer. Took about 6 months of countless calls to get to a tech between manufacturer that was part of the language structure. Sales guys had no clue...

Thanks. I started with Garmin yesterday. When I called it said I had an hour and 13 min wait..I gave up there for now because I had to go and do something. I'm pretty sure the 2000 model is the way to go though. It's one of those wants not needs. If the price was right I would do it, just not $400.

Question regarding the junction box on a twin engine application, if I get a 6 port junction box do I need one resistor or two for VV Mobile Installation?

I am pretty sure one.

Resistor
VV
Port harness
Starboard harness
Dust cover
Dust cover

You need none, just a dust cover for the open port on the 6 way.

I just got a reply from Mercruiser...the attached diagram is how they recommend installing VVM on my 03 280.
