Official 320 Dancer Thread

Not mine LOL it is the guys shop who does all my maintenance and stores my boat over the winter.

It's with a lot of excitement and a little sadness that I am leaving the 320DA family. We are doing a George Jefferson and "moving on up" - literally and figuratively. We are staying in the Sea Ray family, but we've signed a contract on a 2003 400 Sedan Bridge. Now we are just awaiting slightly warmer temps to do surveys and sea trials without having to re-winterize. We know the new boat's current owners and we know how meticulously they cared for her, so we expect no major surprises in the surveys or trial.

As a result, we've put "Lollygagger" on the market. If you know anyone that may have an interest in a low hour, well-maintained, much-upgraded 320DA, please show them this listing:

https://www.yachtworld.com/boats/2003/sea-ray-sundancer-3512654/

A short list of some of the upgrades:
  • Simrad NSS9 evo 2 chartplotter
  • Airmar P79 depth sounder
  • Std Horizon GX1600 VHF
  • NMEA2000 network installed, bringing SmartCraft engine data to the helm
  • Bulkhead mounted flat panel TV mounted in cabin
  • Bluetooth adapter integrated into stereo
  • New galley fridge
  • LED cockpit lighting
  • New cutlass bearings (both sides – 2018)
  • Props reconditioned (2018)
  • Recent inspection of manifolds and risers (2018)
  • Bottom soda blasted and painted (2017)
  • Cockpit carpet replaced (2016)
  • Custom canvas with upgraded Sunbrella and Strataglass (2016)
  • Oil/filters in engines and generator changed every year
  • New zincs every year
  • Impellers changed every year

I have no plans to leave this group. Where else will I be able to make use of the myriad 320-specific knowledge I've acquired over the years?

Does anybody know how to access the front cabin speakers ? Also are these two speakers amped? If so where is the amp? I know the amp under the bench seat powers the deck speakers .....

Thanks !

The amp for the cabin speakers is underneath the bed. Pull off the bed, both pieces, and I believe the amp is under the front portion (closest to the bow). The first portion (closest to the stern) will have the AC and bow thruster beneath it.

On my 06 with standard sound package the small amp for the cockpit speakers was under the couch.
The 2 speakers in the front of the cabin were driven by the head units built in amp. I think it was different if you had the premium sound package. I would also like to know how the cloth grill comes off the cabin speakers.

Yes, how do I gain access to the front cabin speakers, and I will have to look for the amp if not I will have to figure out how to put a inline unit in, I installed the fusion head unit with two zones and cabin speakers are super low and if I turn on my amp for deck speakers my cabin speakers cut out

You have a bow thruster on a 320?

Bow thrusters were put on 06 320s with Bravo III drives I guess as an option. There are a couple of them that boat near me.
Bow thrusters were offered on the 300 as well.

This is a new to me boat. See picture below! How should I go about sealing up these holes beneath the electrical tape? (Should have taken a picture without the tape)

Also, what do you think was here previously?

Cheers to warmer weather here in Michigan!!!

My guess would be either a hailer, or Glomex. On one of my boats, I covered an old area like that with a round piece of stainless, and some 4200.

Agree it was the Glomex TV antenna

Guys,
Recently I had a mechanic over and he noticed I was missing an iac muffler on one engine. I bought two iac mufflers since they are only $2 each and he installed them on each engine. Anyway, now my idle rpms are not in synch. While in neutral I am at 720 on the port engine and 600 on starboard (fully warmed up). A couple questions, is idle speed an easy adjustment or complicated? Also, does anyone know the target rpms at neutral? I have 350 magnum 300hp v-drives in my 2004 320 DA, but I don’t have the manual for the engines. Thanks!!

If you have the serial numbers, you can find the manuals and order them, that’s what I had to do. My IAC from a 3rd party was way more expensive than 2$, so I am guessing you only replaced the little squar piece of material (1/2” x 1/2’ at most/) on the inside? I’m not a mechanic, but I seem to recall they called it a muffler. My IACs died about 1-3 months after purchase, and all you can do is putt putt home because it keeps throwing smartcraft errors, so I would recommend you go buy 2 brand new IACs and install them, (I can do it, so any one can!). Even better, buy a third 6 months later and keep it as a spare. Also, buy fuel pump relays, I have gone through 3 and 2 harnesses (now, I cut off the harnesses and used 4 quick connects and an automotive 14v 40 amp relay, and have had zero issues since 2016 regarding fuel pumps)

Great idea with the round piece of stainless!

Thank you!

When I replaced my radar arch I had a few nickel size holes which I filled in with apoxy then covered with the gel coat repair kit that matched the boat. You would never know it was there.
