Used to go there in the late 90’s there used to be rental properties you could tie your boat up to. As others have stated out in the lake it can get very crowded. If you get up and get out early you can find a nice cove and get you a spot to spend the day.

If you want to stay at the lake, Raystown Resort has a lodge. Ive never stayed in it, always camped or stayed on the boat. The resort also has cabins, a campground, a restaurant, two boat launches, a water park and marina. Its around mile 22 or 24 if memory serves. 7 Points is the other marina, mile 7, and also has a restaurant but no lodge. They do have campgrounds.

Huntington, at the dam end of the lake, is probably the best place for lodging, groceries and beer if you need. Snyders Boat Launch is closest to the dam, and there are a lot of coves up at that end.

If you elect to stay at the resort, its not too far up to travel by boat up to Aitch Boat Launch where there are some nice coves.

If you've never been there, its a long narrow lake, 26 miles or so long. It is narrow and gets busy on weekends, and can get pretty choppy. One nice thing about it, other than the two marinas, the shoreline is undeveloped for its length, so there is pretty scenery. If you go in the spring, there's sometimes a bunch of crap floating at the resort end, but it depends on how much spring rain and flooding there is.

Depth wise, you can see 200 ft in the middle in some places. And I'm not sure of the mile marker, but the old Raystown Dam is underwater. If you look on youtube, you can find videos of guys that have dived it. Spooky.

My slip is at the resort. We're allowed in on may 1, so cant wait
