Sea Dek Cost?

Mine has been down 6 months now... It looks like it did the day it went down. The true test will be this summer in the heat.

I know they have a 1st and 2nd generation of sea dek (primarily 30% lighter in weight and cooler to the touch) I've stepped on some of the 1st gen stuff and wow, does it get hot on bare feet. I assume it'll hold up I'm more concerned about the temperature on my feet.

I just installed Seadek last Summer on my swim platform. It does not get hot.

I've been thru 3 Texas summers with mine now. It's hotter on your feet than the white non-slip on the platform. It's not nearly as hot as some of the other faux teaks as I can still always walk on it barefoot. It's held up very well over that time however I do have one corner of the swim platform that needs to be glued back down. The cushioning is very comfortable to walk on and provides better traction than the molded in non-slip.

Just let me add for full disclosure that I'm on a fresh water lake in a covered slip so I have no idea if someone in an uncovered saltwater environment would get the same results.

Looking for opinions. I am also going to be ordering seadek for my swim platform. Opinions welcome on what would look better...traditional teak color with black striping or gray color with black striping which would match the blue canvas and blue and gray accents of the boat.
Thanks in advance

I'd go gray. If/when I do the swim platform on my boat I'll be using gray with black lines. I'd love to do the teak, mocha/black or other look but with my darkish gray cockpit carpet and gray canvas I really can't pull it off. I suspect the cool gray will be a bit cooler on the feat as well. My two cents only of course...

I apologize if this as been convered before, or it belongs in a different forum. I did a quick search and did not find what I was looking for.

That being said, I am being quoted about $3000 for sea dek and install in the cockpit and swim platform of my 2006 340.

Anyone else who has had it done willing to share their costs?

Thanks!
I just received a quote for the swimstep only for REAL TEAK @ $5900 (too much for me) but he said the swimstep with faux teal would run about $3000. I see your quote at $3k covers bothe the swimsteo And cockpit. Maybe the real guy is trying to justify his 5900?!?!

I think I was in the 2000's for my 240 Sundeck. But dramatically changed the look of the boat. See avatar.

I took the boat out last week and ran it around for a couple hours. I washed it down for the first time since last October and the swim steps look like new.

I paid $30 per square foot measured and installed. Did my swim platform, cockpit and fly bridge on my 400 sedan.

Drafter, just came back from the Annapolis Bay Bridge Boat Show. Dealers for Seadeck and MarineMat were there. I’m not sure what my sq footage is but I had a quote for MarineMat installed at around 4000-4500 (sight unseen) for the platform, cockpit and steps (no bridge).

I just had mine done. $3k Canadian installed.

We'll see how long it holds up, but we absolutely love SeaDek for all the reasons listed previously. I'm hoping it does well, the boat's under cover so it will only see the sun when out.

So far we've been out in a couple of low 80's day, and there's been zero issue with it being hot. It got a bit dirty during the cooler months as everyone wore shoes - but now that it's warm, this stuff feels fantastic (comfy) under bare feet.

Had it installed by the local SeaDek guy. Happy I did as it's cut and installed perfectly. It's cool standing on the back swim platform and seeing the lines all line up perfectly throughout the platform and cockpit - I doubt I could have done that cutting it myself.

For the chap asking about color...go with whichever color (sounds like grey) that ties in with your boat and canvas covers. I thought I wanted the teak look, but my gals talked me into Terra. Glad I listened because it's absolutely the perfect color for our boat / canvas colors.

I'm going on my 3rd season with the SeaDek on my little boat. It has never been hot and it still looks like new. I have the gray color.

We paid $4500 for the Seadeck measured and installed. It was $5,000 even, but I lined up several of my buddies boats for him to do at the same time, so he knocked 10% off. Castaway Customs did mine. I asked their rep to email me his cad file so that I could see the layout that he put together. There are quite a few pieces for a 400
