340 SUNDANCER THREAD

Finally addressed a factory annoyance..

You can’t turn on the light in the head with out turning on all the other lights around the cabin..... so if one needs to use the bathroom at night lights come on everywhere or your in the dark...

So randomly found the access panel behind the mirror in the head...this gave me an idea.. and I capitalized.

Ran a single wire from the head light, over top of head and down the wall behind the power panel, and into the switch panel on left side of counter.

The head light is now powered off the fan switch power supply side. Both fan switches work as normal. And the head light works alone by switch inside head..

So the breaker for the fan... poop/gally if off the head light is not powered/ can’t be left on. But in general when I first get to the boat I turn on the fan switch and some others.. but no more bathroom light = wake everyone

This sounds like the right way to do it. When I had my 340 I went the "three minute project" route and mounted a "push light" on the wall next to the head. It looked OEM when it was on the wall! Super cheap...super easy.

thanks for that....i have been wondering about the exact same thing....how does the mirror come off the wall?...

The top edge is a hinge.. the bottom is just the hard peg/Velcro. Single dot in middle... so support and pull from bottom middle.. it pops loos and you can raise it flat with the ceiling of the head. Stand under it with your head holding it up, and can remove the access panel behind it.

How much you guys paying for haul out and bottom paint?

This will be wickedly regional. I paid $650 for a recoat on my 340 two years ago (light sand, just the loose stuff). Haul-out would have been a couple hundred more but I was already out for winter.

Well got a “ruff cut” of the new tabs.

They are made out of 1/8th inch 304 stainless, 24wx14d with 2.5 inch drop fins on both sides, and a 1 inch up ridge on back for strength. Will square up the bends and clean them all and grind corners and edges smooth. Then weld them on old tabs while boat is out for bottom paint.

I had the (I believe 90 AMP) fuse for my AMP go, which is connected directly to my forward battery. This made my AMP stop, and no sound came out of my speakers. Perhaps you may have the same problem?

Welcome to CSR Chris....good luck with the 'new' boat....

you may not be aware that there was significant changes to the 340 model starting in mid 2003.....this forum is primarily for the earlier model 340's....the forum that is specifically for your model is http://clubsearay.com/index.php?thr...0-sundancer-thread.59501/page-88#post-1052197

you are always welcome to post on any forum you wish but you may get more specific replies on specific issues on the other forum...

good luck...
