I have a 1986 Sedan Bridge 300 with a shattered sliding glass window in the main cabin. It is located in the Chicagoland area. I am hoping to have someone replace/install the glass.

1. Does anyone know who could help? I have called all around with nobody able to do it.
2. Does anyone know how I could get the new glass into the track if I were able to get an auto glass company to make a window?

It is the back window. I attached a picture of this style boat pointing to the window I am referring to.

Do a search for a local -custom auto glass shop. Remove the slider and bring to them.
They should be able to cut a piece of laminated safety glass that will have the correct tint to match your other windows.

Take a look at companies that do home window and door repair and replacement. I had a local company come down to the boat, remove the door then replace the rollers and reinstall the door. Took a couple of hours and cost me $130.

if its just flat glass - make a template (other side) and measure the thickness and bring it to a glass shop

Your response isn't helpful. Thankfully I found a Marina in Michigan who knew a glass shop that could help. If anyone can help on what it takes to get the new glass back in the track, i would appreciate it.

It would be helpful to you and those who respond if you change your location from the United States to where you are actually located. The question you posted is a prime example.

How does my location change that my question clearly stated I needed help in Chicago land?

I didn't realize the point of this forum was to make new members feel unwelcome. I posted a question stating the research I have done and where I need help. I have updated my profile to include Chicago as my location.

Sorry I missed the Chicago reference in the Chicagoland so after reading the question I looked to your profile to see your location. As you will find many times in this and other forums the persons profile is left profile incomplete and the missing info must be asked in order for a member to give a good response. Was just trying to be helpful sorry if I offended.

Thanks!

Thanks. I guess I'm just upset after the first response that said have you tried Google?

Not sure if this will help you, but I have an older Sea Ray with a similar set of sliding windows. I had to remove and reinstall one of the windows recently. In my scenario, there is a lot of play in the top track. I pushed/lifted the pane of glass upward into the track and eased the bottom of the window out when it cleared the aluminum track. I hope this makes sense and that yours is the same way. If it is, the install should be pretty simple. Good luck!

I'm headed to my winter storage this Saturday. I will try that out. Thanks! The boat is going in the water on the 21st either with the new window in or garbage bag over the missing window

Update for anyone trying to follow this for their own boat...

The sliding window worked as Tahobe suspected, but my free play was not as generous. There was just enough room in the track to push the window up and lean it out. It took a lot of patience and a bit of brute force, but I was able to change out the window. I was able to work with M & M Glass in Midlothian after getting a recommendations from some other marinas that I called around to. I took out the matching window and had them match the tint/size and then sent it out to a separate company for tempering.

Thanks for your help!
