I'm having carpet inserts made for the 3 steps into the cabin on my 280. I just made the templates out of foil and transfered to heavy construction paper. I went to the marina to check the fit of the final templates (measure twice,, cut once) but needed to come home and get my kayak to get to the dock, here are a few pics of the steps. Snapincarpet.com quoted $18.00/piece with 2 weeks turn around. The ministry of finance approved the expenditure so away we go:thumbsup:

Are you going to have the carpet for the step with the waste basket made in three pieces so you can get to the wastebasket without having to unsnap the carpet?

And as far as your dock goes I assume you are on a river. Are you sure none of those big trees and limbs didn't hit your boat? If it were me, I would be afraid they did and would probably want to pull the boat just to look at the hull for any signs of damage.

I'm only having two snaps in the front corners and don't mind unsnapping as needed. As for the boat, removal is not an option for a number of reasons,
#1) My boat is blocked in by two very large cables that get raised when the river rises so quickly

#2) The electic to the dock is now hanging about 5 inches off the water and I can't get around it

#3) The river current is about 5 times normal, currently at around 3.8 to 4.0, normally runs around .7

#4) The boat ramp is covered in debris, some logs being bigger than my F150

I've been to the boat sometimes 3 times per day to "ferry" debris past the boat and remove anything collected between the transom and the dock plus the dock boys check often and remove what they find. River should be back down by mid week provided we get no appreciable rain this week..I'll have a look then but until then what a PITA:smt021 but hey, that's river boating.. good news is only 15 short years until retirement and I'M MOVING

I talked to snap in carpets about having your template on file for the steps carpet. Could you PM me with your name or customer order number? They can then look up the templates for me.

Being 11 years ago I have no idea what the customer order number was, but you are in luck,, I still remember my name. It would have been under Daniel Vanderman for a 2001 280DA

Thank you Daniel. I appreciate it!
