Cool! Thanks for posting the pic.
It was cold but quiet day on Smith’s Bayou, just us two boats. I can’t believe how high the water levels are !
The measuring stick is under water. Have never seen that before.

Took advantage of the nice day yesterday knowing today would be nasty. Seas are 6+ in the sound. A few boats tried to make a run back to CT this am and afternoon and had to turn around. We’re going to leave the boat in LI and take the ferry home. At least we had 1 nice boating day thus far this season!
This weather is getting really old.

It sure is.

I went to the marina today for pre splash duties.

It was freezing out, raining steadily and the canal was thick with debris in a strong current.

I went into the office and rescheduled for this Saturday.

Rain every weekend for the past 4 weeks. This weekend is looking great low 80’s !

Talk about high water. This is what we are dealing with at home. House got wasted in 2017 and now in 2019, we are in a panic trying to protect it.
Boat is still on the hard and shrink wrapped.

We forced a trip to Martha’s Vineyard today for our annual mother’s day breakfast at Black Dog Tavern. It is cold, windy and raining. 2ft rollers pushing into VH harbor with the North wind. Funny, we see the same boats there each year doing the same tradition regardless of the weather. We had a nice breakfast and kids loved the ride so it was all good.

Probably a little nicer ride on the 520 than it would have been on your 340! We splashed our 340 last Saturday, which was an awesome day, nice ride, but we didn't go out Sunday, it was kinda nasty. Hope we see your new ride sometime this summer. Cheers.

I wouldn’t have gone in the 340. No place to get out of the cold. We would have been cold and wet the whole time, not just docking. Definitely have to catch up this summer.

Are you in Montreal? We’re in Rochester, I constantly hear people saying we should let more water out of the river but they fail to realize how high you guys already are down river. They don’t seem to see the bigger picture.

My boat has one of the engines at a rebuilder, so I’m not as agitated as we would normally be, but this weather and water level is really starting to change our summer plans. So many businesses and Marinas underwater.

Hello Strecker25,
Yes, we are in Montreal and reside on the Lake of Two Mountains. The water levels are very high and the debris is unbelievable. Fortunately the house is dry not like 2017, when we were evacuated for 11 months, obliged to live in a hotel while we rebuilt the house.
A law was passed this week where no boats are allowed on the Lake or the Ottawa River because of boat wakes. The risk of water bypassing the sand bags flood control is too great.Fines are up to $5000.00 if someone is caught. It will be weeks before things return to normal.
Thank you for keeping your water in the river.
Hope you get your engine rebuild finished soon.
