We just purchased our 250 Sundancer and it came with a camper top. The PO said it had rarely been used and I believe it after seeing it. There is some yellowing of a couple of the windows (Isinglass or Eisenglass type), but the others look great and the canvas itself is awesome.

I understand that these should be rolled and the PO did for the most part. There are a couple of long pieces that he had folded over. I unfolded them and they look OK.

How do you store them on the boat? We won't have them on board all of the time, but when we go out for a long weekend or longer, we will probably take them. I was thinking of the long plastic tubs like you might slide under your bed as well as the regular plastic tubs you might use for storing Christmas decorations in the attic. My wife even thought about PVC pipes, but I don't think that is practical (don't let her know i said that).

Thanks,

When we stored ours on the boat we rolled them on foam noodles then placed them in a long canvas duffle type bag that came with canvas/boat. We then just tossed them on the v berth during the day or back deck at night. We also cut terry cloth sections to place between the isinglass sections. This prevented scratches.

Thanks Buckeye! The terry cloth sounds like a good idea. I hadn't thought about the zippers etc. scratching it.

+1 on the dollar store pool noodles. They make it easy to roll and prevent collapsing.

Old sheets also work well between the panels when you roll them up. Cut them to size for minimal excess.

We also use bed sheets to protect and carefully roll. Saw a guy in our marina roll and slide into cardboard concrete footing tubes (Home Depot) if you have the room keeps them from getting crushed.

Have a great day

I always laid them flat and put them under the V-birth mattress with sheets in-between.

Thanks for the ideas. The concrete footer tubes are probably cheaper than PVC. Still not sure how practical that will be...
Our V-berth does not have storage at the point. The sides do, but they aren't very long. The aft berth is probably where we'll be sleeping if the wife isn't too claustrophobic! I might try and get some netting and hang it in that area to hold the panels... Who knows, but thanks for all of the ideas.
