I have a 1964 Sea Ray 700 with a 1969 Mercury 650 (65hp) with a single cable Ride Glide through-tilt tube type steering system. The steering works smoothly, so I'm not looking to replace the cable. But so far I have not been able to identify the correct steering rod link and fitting to connect the steering cable to the motor. The steering cable slide cylinder has a machined groove at the end as shown in the attached picture. Most of the replacement cables I have seen show a flattened end with a hole through them to accept the threaded end of the steering link. I am also unable to find the OEM part number for the 1969 steering link rod so that I can purchase a replacement. Any help you could provide is appreciated.
