Hello All I own a 2008 sea ray 290 amberjack twin 5.0 mpi I/O I would like to pull my kids around on a tube were is the best place to hook up

Your boat is not made to pull tubes or skis... imagine the wake you'll create when you have to turn and come back to pick a rider up that has fallen off... you'll drown them!

But anyway, try a bridle hooked to the back tie-down rings.

And what's with the poll... 2, 2, or 23?

Welcome to CSR!

When we first got our 290AJ I bought the bridle, tow rope, & tube. Used it once, clipped to the lower cleats. I then gave everything to a friend who had just purchased a 22CC. Not only is the wake dangerous to your rider, I felt like it was disruptive to others anchored nearby.

Nevermind the gas you will burn.......cheaper to buy a runabout and use that LOL - I have essentially the same boat and wouldn't try it - But if your hell bent on trying it, the rings by the platform are too low (i tried to tow a dinghy from there) use the set of cleats on the stern - I have a bridle and 80' custom tow line made from floating NE ropes braided line (not the normal cheaper polypropylene stuff) - it cost me quite a bit at the time to have it made. I towed the dinghy on plane quite a few times one season, but have not done so in years.....I'd let it go cheap if you are interested

Maybe you'd be better surfing behind it.

Thanks for the advice
Happy boating to all

I used to do this frequently with an IB 290AJ. I tied a floating line between both stern cleats and clipped the tow line to it. The "V" where the clip latched was about 30' behind the boat. The kids had a blast. I did the same thing on our I/O 300DA. Go for it. Teach the kids how to raise one hand when they inevitably go swimming and make sure they have good fitting, quality life vests. The best part is swinging them side to side and watching them jump the wake.

About that, maybe a little more. It was a 100' floating line with each end tied off to the stern cleats. I usually tied a small loop in the center of it to clip the tow line to. That allows the boat driver to swing them around a little easier.

Cool I will have to purchase another floating line
Thanks
