I'm sure you've seen this....Hard to look away...thequalifiedcaptain

I’ve been following them for a few months now,
Just posted about that in another thread earlier today.
They post some pretty funny stuff. But it’s kind of scary too.

I could watch that shit all night! Love the guy in the 50+ Fly running aground at full speed. Also, the maniac that ran up on the swim platform of another boat made the show!

I love number 12, where the guy "drops off" his GF at the bar.

The Bertram trying to leave with his amidship line still attached: I felt for him, for a while.

I was leaving single-handed one day to troubleshoot an engine problem. I had forgotten to release the line on the starboard bow, but it had a snubber on it. The "pull" was so gentle that for at least 4 attempts, I thought my engine was cutting out. It was one of those days that I really hoped no-one was watching.

Watching that guy get yanked over and over again though... What did he THINK was happening?!?!

so many to choose from. The bayliner (bridge) that side swipes EVERY dock....The flybridge that tipped on the trailer is just sad.

I should add these: nice weight distribution and safe # of people.

I side tie on my port side and had a stern cross tie to starboard...but its a long rope. Forgot to take it off the other day.. got about 15 feet from the dock and stopped...I couldn't figure that out for a second... Then damn... hope no one saw that I said..... so don't think you're the only one :)

Just made reservations for the 13th/14th at Cedar point Pier 11 so will be in your neighborhood... its the start of Hallow weekends not sure what that is.... anything we should see or do other than rides?... I will have my daughter and her friend aboard too, but they will stick to rides I am sure and away from us.

BlueOne. We just got back from there last Sunday (were down there Thursday thru Sunday). In addition to the park and all of its fun, the gas dock is a great place to watch boat traffic. While I was there, there was very large Viking (had to be 70'+) that was up from Florida for a couple of days. It had a very large tuna tower on it.
Next time down there, I am planning for more time. I enjoyed drinking beer on the boat at the dock as much as I enjoyed the park.

You stopped at the first yank though. I clued-in after the FOURTH. lol

Cedar Point promotes Halloweekends from mid-Sept through to the end of the season. All the flowerbeds are yanked and replaced with fake tombstones and cobwebs. They build haunted houses and spook zones with smoke machines and ghost-themed music. Typically the wkd after Labor day is one of the slowest, then it begins to pick back up. Since they started really pushing HW (about the last decade or so), the end of the season is where they tend to set attendance records. Apparently, people really like fake tombstones and the Monster Mash! If your daughter wants to ride and doesn't otherwise get an opportunity, the Fast Lane pass may be something to consider. It seem extravagant at first, but if the weather forecast is good it can be worth every penny. (a rainy forecast impacts attendance, so I wouldn't buy the pass if the weather is dicey)

Brent, I think I saw your boat now that I think about it - I didn't make the connection. We might need CSR burgees...!

Brent made a good point about the view on Pier 11. If you're assigned a well from 02 to about the high teens, your bow will be pointing at the back of Famous Dave's.

Speaking of dock assignments... ugh. Dockhands will also be in short supply. Not only do they not carry handheld VHF's, they don't know what a VHF is and there isn't one in their hut either. The expectation is that you dock at the fuel pier or on the transient wall, check-in at the office, and then dock again. If you don't need fuel, you can call the office on 9/16 or on the phone and ask for a dock assignment. They may refuse, but they may also help. It's worth a shot.

Famous Dave's is what it is. They will have lost help as employees return to college, so getting take-out instead of dining in can mitigate frustration. Bay Harbor is located over at Dock 5. I don't recommend the dining room, but they have a bar menu if you ask for it, and will serve you at the outdoor patio / fire pit.

I do recommend exploring Hotel Breakers. It's been completely remodeled/rebuilt. There's a beach bar and fire pits and the boardwalk now extend the entire length of the beach. It's directly across the park if you have entry tickets. If not, just catch the free shuttle from the canopy in the marina parking lot. The courtesy phone to request pick-up is at the corner of the building.

I have mine.... Back to laughing at other boaters...

I had forgotten to release the line on the starboard bow
That's better than what a dock neighbor did 2 years ago at Beacon Cove. He forgot his water and electric. Needless to say we had a nice water feature on the dock for a couple hours.:D
