It is only held on with adhesive/caulk.

Aren't these the ones several members have been looking for because they fell off? I'd remove them and re-bed them in adhesive. The caulking can look much better than what yours did if they're lined with painters tape on both sides and some care is taken doing the job.

The vent covers are glued on big mount pads with adhesive underneath and caulking should not be that visible from above. That opening also helps to channel run off water coming down the gunnel.

When I purchased my boat I requested that the vent (which was loose) be re-glued. The tech must not have known and tried filling the seam and it looked horrible. Finally after a couple of seasons I have most of the caulking out and off my non-skip there.

Late reply on this so you're probably all set but I'll chime in in case it helps anyone. I reattached both mine this year. Felt them coming loose after thorough spring cleaning. The second practically fell off from a light bump of a deck brush.
Comments above are correct about adhesive, caulk and tape. The covers were attached by globs of adhesive on the two ends on the top of the vents. There was silicone caulk around the edges but it was not as noticeable as the job in your second picture.
I put painters tape to edge around where caulk would go so it would look neat, used 4200 on horizontal surface as adhesive and white silicone all around to caulk edge. Believe I used a small starboard/pvc shim on the outside of the port side because it didn't sit right- probably just my boat and because I'm obsessive. I then put a few oval/bugle head stainless deck screws through the top because there is no way I'd risk losing one. The screws are barely noticeable/look like they should be there. The peanut gallery at the dock, including a mechanic and a surveyor, all noted it seemed strange not to have fasteners on those covers. Hope this helps anyone.

I hate to reopen a old Tread but would love to know what type of adhesive people are using to put this on with? 5200...

I am not sure if I would go as aggressive as 5200. If for any reason you want to remove them you might wind up damaging something. Maybe something a little less permanent like a Life-Caulk. Since they are easy to access you will know right away if one of the seals begins to fail.

What is best tool to use to remove blower vent cover without damageing or cracking cover? Thanks.

I have a 2002 Sundancer 300 and my starboard vent cover came off yesterday. I tied to another boat on that side and a bumper loosened it. I took the whole thing off and was shocked to see that it is apparently only held in place by epoxy. Is there a better method for remounting than just epoxy and if epoxy is the answer -- what type of epoxy?

Thanks.

I lost mine in Hurricane Ian in Florida , very hard part to find. Any suggestions????? Thx
