hello !

i have in my 06 240 sundancer an atwood water heater and it works great .

we plan to do a trip without many harbours and shore power supply so my portable generator will log a lot of hours ( overnight )

its a 1200 watt unit and switching on the heater ( +1400 watts power demand ) overloads and trips the generator. is there a way to adjust the heater the power demand of it is reduced a bit for the cost it will take longer to heat up the water ?

( btw : i place the genny onshore 30- 50 feet away from the boat for CO safety and noise ,i have an additional tank so it will make it overnight . careful loadsharing is needed but it generally works very well )

No free lunch. You need a bigger generator. BTW what do you need the generator for overnight?

ok thanks gentlemen ! i thought there might be a way to adjust the t- stat control . the genny runs the waterheater when the water inside is already warm ( to keep it warm ) but is overhelmed when the water inside is cold .

no hot shower at the morning i guess ...
