Reuse shrink wrap?

After dropping $1200 this season to wrap my 450 I am inspired! Nice work!

Time for a winter cover and ditch the shrink. If you plan in keeping the boat launch enough it will pay for itself. Your probably gonna break even in the 4-5 year range.

When I bought my 36 the PO gave me the framework and old wrap.

It was an immense and unwieldy pile of crinkled crap. I threw it out.

I covered with a tarp for two years and that always works well, but weather and timing has had me shrink wrap the past 2 seasons.

I labor over this decision every fall and folding, storage and convenience are big factors in the decision.

Back in the 1980’s when I first got in to boating, assembling frames and covering with tarps was pretty standard.
Assembling, disassembling and storing the framework was a PIA. So was adjusting and re-securing the tarp over the winter.
I think that there was more air circulating under the tarps, which was a good thing, and it was certainly cheaper than shrinkwrap.
In the end though, despite having to fight the extra moisture, paying for the shrinkwrap every year is way easier to deal with and well worth it to me.

Agreed. I never had moisture or mildew problems when covering with a tarp, but have had minor issues under shrink wrap.

It’s a decision I labor over every year now with convenience a winner.

Here you go.

wrapped it today with a generous donation from Kevin C.

It’s a 240 Sundeck wrapped reusing Shrink wrap from a 340 Sundancer.

It held up great through this very mild winter. Thanks again Kevin!

although I won’t be able to use it on the boat next winter, it’ll be on my patio furniture some way some how.

Did the same thing with last year's shrink wrap. Worked well on covering my furniture and can reuse again.
