410 Sundancer/Express Cruiser and 400 Sundancer/Express Cruiser **Official Thread**

Looking at replacing cockpit sink with stainless steel one and updated faucet. Also want to order new cockpit carpet.

did the demo on my 380, the hole was right for the smaller oval that’s on amazon. The new sink is a little less in overall size, so I have a couple nics of gel coat I need to repair that was rough when the original sink was installed. The old caulk is a doozy, I ended up using a flat bar to get it out, the sink breaks pretty easy, just cheap plastic

Sounds like your spot light controller works, and it can rotate, but elevation isnt working?

Here's the fix...http://www.clubsearay.com/index.php?threads/arc-rcl-100-spotlight-repairs.89141/#post-1010405

However, I suggest a 20 or 30 rpm motor...same price.

The light bulb is not working. Not sure if elevation isn’t working, have to check. I will probably check the elevation tomorrow.

And thanks for the link - now I know have a source for the bulb, assuming that is the only issue.

first I replaced the single stage muffler with a dual stage. It was around $300

Thanks dtfeld, that's what I was looking for. I knew that subject was brought up here somewhere. I did the tune up (oil, plugs, wires, and impeller) in July 2019.

Greg, I had Lakeshore Boat Top (across from Colony Marine) do my cockpit carpet. I'm really happy with the job they did. I got the same sink and faucet that Chris380 posted. Lisa ordered it off Amazon. His looks more chrome than mine does.

My generator only has around 100 hours on it and towards end of the season I started having trouble with it. It would just turn over and never start.

Joe, just making sure you're aware that excessive cranking without firing will fill the muffler and can back up into the cylinders. It's probably the most-frequent cause of death for generators...!

Have you tried starting it directly on its panel? You have the 7.2, right? The 7.0 that was installed in earlier 400's doesn't prime like it should from the remote switch. Holding the ON button on the genny and allowing the pump to fully prime the carb makes a huge difference in cold starting the 7.0's. That might be worth a shot? Also check the choke linkage - it sticks easily.

Anyone have any cool projects planned for the off season (for those of us who don't deal with hurricanes but do have an off-season :))?

I'm going to have to address some bottom paint. That's never fun.

Wheeling and waxing of course.

My biggest project is replacing the helm panels. I have the new set, but I'm not sure I'll do it off-season, at least the major part which is the switch row. I didn't get it done (started) before the end of this season and I'm afraid of disabling the ignition circuit and having a no-start condition in the lift well come spring. #totalwimp

I could get the instrument and/or the gauge panel panels done though...

All the lines and fenders are in the garage. I'll scrub the fenders and wash the lines with a heavy dose of fabric softener and get all of that back to the boat in January.

I unscrewed the nasty plastic windlass switch covers on haul out day in case I any moisture was under them. The switches were still very-well bedded though, so I'll be able to install the new stainless ones on the next visit. I'm looking forward to that.

John,

Right now my parents need me. Hoping to get things under control so we can head north in summers in the future.

My spot light still rotates from remote. Did your’s? I will google the ACR troubleshooting as you suggested.

My geni gets started before we leave and gets turned off just before I dock. They are built to be run and don’t eat much fuel. Gotta have my AC in cabin. Wish I had it in cockpit here, but not sure how much it would help in the summer months down here, even with a hard top. Like you I keep trays of ice in salon fridge and also bring bags of ice from home frig ice maker. Even when the boat ice maker worked I never used it in drinks. Just don’t trust the tank, especially when the water sits for a few weeks.

Stay warm!

Mine rotates and tilts perfectly. That’s why I thought it was the bulb. Replaced bulb and still no light.
Then I did what I should of done first. I went through the troubleshooting and determined it is the controller.
The original was discontinued but I called ACR and verified that the next number up (can’t think of it right now but it’s in the manual) is a suitable replacement.
ACR was pretty helpful on the phone.
I use my generator a lot too. Not constantly, but pretty much gets used about once a week for several hours on the hook at Zacks Bay.
Usually don’t bother with it on shorter runs from my dock to transient slips at Tobay or Fire Island.

Thanks Joe. I was going to order through Snap in Carpet on the west side of Michigan. Is only $770 for our 400. They have the template for the original carpet. Didn't know you had the ss sink.

Roller, I have Blaz working on it. The reason it wouldn't start was some sort of relay switch thingy not letting it get fuel.

One of my dock neighbors owns a high-quality marine canvas shop. (he's a former 400DA owner and CSR member)

I just asked him for a quote on a helm cover to replace the ratty sheets I've been using. I wonder if we could get some volume discounts if anyone else is interested?

We have a Canvas cover for the helm, captain and companion seats.

I couldn't help but notice that covered outlet over by your helm seat. Did you add that yourself? Seems like the perfect spot for it. Under the aft "couch" is a real PITA to access. I installed a power strip under that couch along the center line of the boat to ease some of the pain. Still not as slick as your outlet install...

I disagree. Without the placement of the original outlet, I'd rarely have the opportunity to stretch (or pull) otherwise un-used muscles, clean the cockpit floor with the front of my shirt and now that I own a beautiful German Shedder, inhale dog hair.

Hah. So hilarious...and so true.

My outlet is behind where the cabin door sits when open.
Really dumb place for it.

Yes, it was installed aftermarket. Our 400 is 1998 and we have no 110VVAC convenience outlets in cockpit. It is so handy for winter time heater or summer fan.
