Dog onboard?

bought a paddle board to shuttle to land when we camp out. ...yes, always bring baggies...

Ours will swim to shore if close. If we’re not close he will use the Lilly pad, sounds gross I suppose but better than in the boat.

Many boaters are able to train their dog to use a 3x4’ section of artificial grass, then just use bags for the 2, and hose off the 3x4’ grass. Unfortunately, my late Maggie never learned this trick, but she thought it was a great place to lie down!

That was a major justification for investing in a nice dink and davit. Our little Yorkie is not about to swim to shore like our first boat dog did, a yellow lab.

These 2 wouldn't get in the water if they were on fire so swimming for shore was out of the question. They could hold it for 8-10 hours easily. However we usually didn't cruise that long with them on board and we went to places where we were tied to a dock. We rarely anchored out as it was just too hard to find them a spot of grass

It sounds like swimming to shore will work. My Lexi swims like a fish. When in my pool you can push her under and she just pops up ten feet away and comes back at you.....lol. I've watched her swim for almost an hour without getting out.

The one good thing about having dogs on board that don't like to be in the water is I never have wet, sloppy dogs on board.
