Official 320 Dancer Thread

Completed a couple other projects this last week. First, all new isinglass (or whatever it is called these days) with all new front and side panels. Seen here I had "dog ears" zippers cut into the side panels for airflow and visibility. I put a snap in the center and on the radar arch to keep them open while still or driving. Works GREAT for airflow in either situation. Also, did replace the original Clarion speakers with Polk Audio. I do not have the upgraded stereo system on my boat so no sub. After installing all 4 of these, pretty happy with the bass response and will probably not install an additional sub?? Finally, installed new Aquamat cockpit flooring from Corinthian Marine. I really went with them because of free shipping. The other companies would have charged around $200 to ship so big savings. The cockpit carpeting that was in the boat must have been the original and the bottom was completed dry rotted. View attachment 77499 View attachment 77499 View attachment 77500
Love the flooring choice. Free shipping or not, it looks fantastic. What model Polk did you go with? Did you replace the cabin speakers as well?

I found an older model of Polks - DB651. They were only $65/pair thru amazon and the color of the cones matches the interior trim (SHE wanted them because they matched and the new model DB 652's did not). But they really do sound good. The mounting holes line up perfectly with the former Clarion so install was a breeze. (NOTE: the speaker covers for the Clarions were a bear to take off. Have to twist clockwise) I did not replace the cabin speakers because we really mostly listen to music when we are up in the cockpit.

That's awesome! Thanks for the tip on Amazon.
What flooring choice did you go with? I just looked at their website and see a nice selection. We're down here in Florida and want something light so that it doesn't get too hot in the summer.

I went with the color Solar Surfstone. They (Corinthian) already have our cockpit template there and this is a new color they are offering (they will send free samples of all options). The normal price is around $650 but I was able to take advantage of a sale and got it for $550. This is the new material (not traditional carpet) and feels great underfoot. I have had it in the sun here in san diego a little and haven't noticed any heat coming off it. Very pleased overall with the fit and finish. Also, they said I wouldn't need snaps and it would lie in place without but I didn't find that to be true so I went ahead and installed the snaps into the flooring and it fits/holds great.

Sounds Fantastic! Couple more questions if your don't mind? Did you go with standard edging or other? Did you buy a snap kit of does it come with?
Thanks for the advise. I've been looking at several different carpets and yours looks great. I'm in Central Florida, you're in SoCal. Don't think we have to worry about anyone noticing if we end up with the same carpet. LOL

Whatever you do, don’t bring your red 320 to the other coast of FL (specifically, Tampa/st pete are)! Yours looks really similar to mine

Got out and changed my Generation III Cool Fuel Filter/Water Separator. I have posted here previously that I was having sporadic issues with my boat only going up to about 3000 RPMs no matter how far i pushed the throttle. Others on here have wondered if some of the mysterious "pant flakes" from this system had made it all the way to the injectors. Not sure if that is the case but wanted to change fuel filters and see if that resolves the issue. I will ost an update in a few months or if I am still experiencing the problem. Anyway, I completed this project following the maintenance manaul (see pics above). I know there are several postings on here about it but I couldn't see good images so I thought I would post, too. You will see from the pics below that I did change out both O Rings and also changed the secondary filter at the bottom of the module. It looked dirty and, in one pic, there was even evidence of paint flakes.

I unhooked to wiring and ran the starter for about 5 seconds, per the directions.

You can see from the pictture above that my fuel filter was dirtly

I wiped out the inside of the filter cup - you can see the dirt on the paper towel.

The new ring is on and the old is across the top there.

Also changed out the O Ring on the module. Both O rings were still in good shape.

New filter in. I will post another update right after this with additional pictures.

Posting the remaining pictures I took here.

This is the new clean secondary filter

After completing the change out, the engine fired right up and ran smoothly. Haven't taken it out on an extended cruise yet so we will see if I have cleared up any issues.

Does anybody know the model number of the hydraulic steering column or better yet it’s capacity in CC?
I am trying to order an autopilot from Raymarine and I am not sure what pump type I need.

thank you,

I hear ya! I wasn't looking for a red one but when I found this one I couldn't pass it up. Single owner, reasonable hours, excellent condition. I'll keep it on the east coast but don't be surprised if you see us over there at some point.

Changed out other fuel filter and found more of the dreaded paint flakes.

Also, got the cooling failure code from my Koehler gen. Changed out impeller and now working perfectly again. The new part is OEM. Not sure if I will get any more hours out of it but giving it a try.

Did you happen to remove the wiring harness to the ADC Module (control board) on the generator? I was unable to remove when I tried the other day, I could not see if there was a release I needed to hold down, or flip up,
or just pull.

No I did not. I just closed the seacock so water wouldn't feed in. There are just 4 simple bolts to remove the cover plate on the side which houses the impeller. Once I changed it out, I opened the seacock and then fired the gen up and it worked perfectly. I checked the outflow of water on the side of the boat and it was flowing strong.

Does anybody know what type pump the 320 needs for the autopilot?
I got the type 1 pump as a gift along with the Raymarine ACU 150 autopilot package.
I just want to make sure that’s the correct one while I can still return it.

thanks.

What type of drives do you have? V-drive or IO stern drive (possible that makes a difference)? What type of steering do you have, hydraulic?
