We have a 2003 SR 480EB with a Vetus Bow Thruster. The thruster controller is at the helm station and has a black toggle switch to provide power to the controller, and a green lighted button I press to activate the joy stick. The thruster works just fine, but the light under the green button does not light up. Anyone have that problem and know how to get to that bulb to replace it?

It could be a couple things and I’m assuming you have the standard Carling switches.

The light in the switch is out, and you can buy the lighted base, or it could be a bad/loose connection on the lighting terminal. Either way, you have to pull the dash panel

Make sure you take a picture or mark the leads before removal. Here how to identify the switch...https://www.fpmarine.com/Articles.asp?ID=245

Better yet, Sea Ray usually has a parts manual for your boat and you can find the sea ray part# and order from Flounder Pounder.

It sounds like there is a button on the controller base itself? If so you may need to contact Vetus.

I bet you can access it from under the dash or possibly unscrew the pad and flip it over it’s probably this stick or try to unscrew the black ring around the light

I have the exact same unit on my boat. I never knew it was supposed to light up as mine never has.

Thanks to everyone who responded to my question. This 480 is new to us and I am still in the learning mode. I did contact Vetus and they offered to sell me a replacement module, but I don't want to go thru the hassle and expense just to replace a bulb when to thruster is working fine. Thanks again all.
