I started this project with apprehension but finished with a result I am pleased with. "Apprehension" in that I've mounted mirrors in various boats before and problems tend to arise. More room to work with on this boat and there is still clearance to walk through to the bow, it does not look like a head or forehead thumper, it should not obstruct the canvas, and I think it will stay in place. The mirror is the glass, wide reflector from Attwood. I hung it from the upper windshield frame on the port side. I drilled and tapped the frame and Loc-tited the stainless, 10-24 machine screws. My tap holes are well aligned coming through inside the canvas snap groove. The mirror's base plate is flat while its foundation on the windshield is slight curved. The oval head machine screws fit tightly into the mirror's recessed sockets and the fully threaded screw holes should give good support. If looseness should develop, careful hand filing of a flat area in the frame under the mirror base might be considered. Plenty of solid aluminum to tap and thread in this Sea Ray windshield frame. I think this installation is complete.

Looks great!
I bought a clamp on version, and it is really useful.

Our spotter is typically an inflatable person so a good mirror is essential. Thank you for the compliment!
