Anyone Buying a Boat in this Mess

I have been looking since last Fall. I found a serious contender last Saturday and was ready to make an offer (cash buyer) until, this week. The market correction makes sense, and was overdue. Coupled with the anxiety/fears of the corona-virus, oil flooding the market, that was a perfect storm. A reliable/trustworthy broker told me there are still buyers, just not cash buyers. Loans will look more attractive if the fed gets us closer to 0, which i think will happen.

If this is a 3 -4 year recession/bear market then I am concerned about overpaying for a boat today, versus 2-3 months from now when the supply exceeds the demand.

I dunno, I am sitting on my hands right now, but thinking about it everyday, cuz i miss the water!!
 
So my wife said this morning: "Why don't you sell this boat so I can buy a condo then you can buy another boat?... Im not sure how I think about that...
 
Buying inside the next 30 days and it couldn't happen fast enough for us. Really looking forward to it.

Not going to pretend I havent considered the sobering reality of today's environment but as Nick Fury recently put it: 'We are going to continue as if the world intends to spin on until we know any different'

If ours was in the water we would probably be doing the same...lol. Bringing it home from storage in 2 weeks
 
Ours is in the water in KW and we’re on it doing quite well. Got my eye on another little bigger boat and if anyone’s looking for a nice 52 that’s not gonna be given away, seriously in the market shoot me a PM if ya’d like. Sellers broker wants it on trade but that’s not likely going to happen! Direct sales saves everybody $.
 
This will be interesting with the Fed at 0 now. It should help to sell my 1990 39 Express up on Lake Erie. Wife says need center counsel for winters in Florida.

Undeterred and hoping this latest fed move brings rates lower.
Ive already seen 4% for 20yr money.

Local dealers shut the doors per governor orders, can’t buy one locally now....

Not near here.
Right now, even with fiscal stimulus, we will need some time to come to terms with negative global growth for the first half of 2020 (if not longer).

I tried that spin with the Admiral...told her now is the time to upsize from the 280 to a 50+er in case we need to take the kids and set a long cruise.
I just got the look.....nothing verbal.
Oh well. Maybe next pandemic.
 
My wife asked if we can get a bigger boat for a quarantine cruise - without the kids.:D
 
I just sent in payment for a new 2019 leftover...can't say I didn't have second thoughts though.....Can't wait for warm weather and put this in the past!!
 
We took a trip last weekend but are looking to cancel one scheduled in a couple of weeks. I’ll still most likely go out ourselves if it’s nice out. My trip to Cabo next week is in doubt now though...

Cabo is a no. Kid was supposed to go yesterday and thankfully bailed. Mexico has taken no precautions. And with a third world medical system, they are going to get destroyed.

Cabo actually has no cases. They are telling Spring Breakers to stay away, beaches are closing and they are doing a great job at holding the virus at bay. Trip is cancelled and will be rescheduled for later in the year.
