Cramped indoor storage frustrations

Heading up to the boat tomorrow night. I've got plenty to do before launch day, meeting with a canvas guy on Friday and will stay on the boat Friday night. About 2.5 months to get everything done.

I've hit mine twice so far this winter and already feel like I may be running out of time to get all of my projects done :)

The canvas guy gave me an estimate to do my aft canvas. I just have the slantback and have eliminated the window, 2,700 bucks including tax. This also includes 10% kickback to the storage building owner.

Made it to the boat today.... starting to get in that spring feeling

Then I go downstairs and see this...... this isn’t good, my wife has been here.

That isn’t good, it’s outstanding!

Have you ever seen this definition of a hurricane?

“The second-biggest threat to a boat, after a dis-interested wife.”

Wait, You said what? Just so I understand; your wife wanted to get a bigger boat, and you said no. How could that be right? What have I misunderstood?
She wanted it because of the kids and one grandkid... these kids come up maybe, maybe twice a summer. So getting a bigger boat for that reason didn't make sense. Most of the time we have another couple and the boat is a perfect size for that. At 45' now I am somewhat limited in transient slips where we go...bigger would limit that more... including I would have to move to an undesirable area in the marina... 3rd is I don't have the energy right now to get another boat up to my expectations...

I have hit my noggin 3 times on the anchor of the trawler behind my boat so far this year.Got a notice for next winters storage this week in the mail, apperantly after 4 years of storing at the same place my boat grew 4 ft 9 inches in length and 1 inch in beam. Also nice of them not to email call or text anyone to let us know they are closed and we cannot get in untill the 14th of april.I have a 4-23-20 launch date and no boot stripes, bottom paint or vacuflush pump on the boat.We striped the bottom and sanded in the fall to apply epoxy and hydrocoat, washed it all down two weeks ago for prep and removed boot stripes and ordered new ones from hullstripes.com. So i will have one weekend to bottom paint ,stripe ,install vacum pump, buff and wax.NOT GOOD!!

I am in so tight I cant get my engine hatch open... I made a deal to put me outside in a couple of weeks and reblock... That way I have more time to get everything done at my pace... I can also sleep on it, so don't have to stay in a hotel

Actually, I can appreciate the situation (just have never seen another guy put it in writing). Seriously, in buying the Sabre we focused on boats that allowed us to stay in our slip or marina because we liked the neighborhood and didn’t want to have to move away from our friends.

Now its getting serious. I just received an email from the marina. They are closed until further notice. I usually get back in the water by April 15. Corona my azz

at least you got an email. Mabey if all goes well i will be in by my original projected date of may 5th.

I just shared this story with my wife. When the laughter subsided, she said that "you are a dumb mother f&*ker". LOL

LOL.... Do you actually think she won’t get a bigger boat ? :) There is no way I am spending $6k on hardwood...

I think you should reconsider that. It sounds like a good deal. I’ve been quoted $9K just to strip and refinish the teak toe rails and accent strips on the cabin.
