Pasco Police Respond to shots fired call

Pasco Police report they responded to a shots fired call at 3:42 a.m. today. While enroute the officers were advised the resident was a former police officer and likely had firearms in the residence.

On arrival officers surrounded the home and ordered the resident to come out with his hands raised. He did and was quickly taken into custody for questioning. Officers also searched the home to determine if anyone else was inside and was injured.

The resident was cooperative and answered the questions officers posed. It appeared he had been undergoing chemotherapy treatments and had recently lost his hair. He had gotten up to go to the bathroom and, on seeing his reflection in the mirror did not recognize it. He grabbed the firearm he kept in the bedroom and shot the “intruder” twice.

Realizing what he had done he set the gun down and waited for officers to arrive. Since none of the rounds fired exited the residence and also that nobody was injured except for the mirror, the officers did not arrest the resident. They released him into the custody of his wife.

Officers would not release the name or address of the shooter.

That is so funny....yet so sad.

I too see an unrecognizable ugly mug in the mirror everyday, but figure he is too old and fat to cause me any harm so I defer drawing a bead on the old feller. But as I turn to walk away and ignore him, all I hear are two knees popping and a little wind breaking.... yes sir, got'er going in a forward direction, so head out the door!

I'm sorry Mike, hang in there
Aw, C'mon Man, don't feel sorry for me. I don't. This chemo stuff isn't as bad as I expected it to be and we had a fun party with the head shaving stuff.

We practiced our social distancing with about 20 or so of our neighbors and just had fun with our friends. I've gotten used to looking at that bald b*stard in the mirror now so that's not too bad.

Some of the friends brought me hats to wear and some made fun signs. The one I think I like best says:
"The devil whispered in my ear
'You are not strong enough to withstand the storm'.
Today I whispered in the devil's ear
'I AM THE STORM'.

So that, and my prior motto of "THROTTLES FORWARD and don't look back" have become my new mantras. Life's too damn short not to have fun along the way.

That sounds like my life these days.......
My kids see pictures of me taken when I was younger and ask me what happened to me.
I tell them they did!
