The "virus" What are your thoughts

While I completely agree with your assessment, I am hoping the one wild card in the deck this time has a picture of an orange man on it!

Let the wrecking ball loose!!!!!
lol. That outcome would not surprise me in the least.

Surprise Suprise...

As far as getting information out of China, where is and was the CIA? Why are we still waiting for official Chinese statistics?
After 911, the CIA explained it is almost impossible to penetrate the Muslim world since the people are strictly faithful to the faith. No amount of money or blackmail would convert informers. Also, it is extremely difficult to insert informants into the communities where terrorism breeds since our cultures are so different. Ok. I get it.
Fast forward some decades. Now we have an emerging viral threat from a country where American business and government has been dealing with for years. Yes, many consider China an enemy (I agree.) However, no one can deny strong economic relationships exists. We have a huge population of Chinese-Americans who are natural born, true red-blooded Americans who can penetrate the culture and blend in with the people of China and just go to work, live quietly, and listen and report facts. We have ultra-high technology that can send encrypted signals on an interplanetary basis. We have secret codes that can be embedded in all sorts of things. Just ask the drug lords how easy it is to import/export stuff into/out of the US. I don’t give a crap if the CIA sends messages by carrier pigeon or floats them in a bottle.
I thought we had a huge, well funded, intelligence community with the mission of identifying and reporting emerging and immediate threats to America. Why is everyone crying and whining about how China lied to us and allowed this to catch us off-guard? Of course China lied to us. Of course WHO lied to the world. Hell, our government probably lies to them! I would expect no less. If our governmental leaders are so naive as to take anything on faith from anyone outside our borders, they should look at our own Congress to see how these wonderful American “patriots” lie to each other and their constituents. Then they should watch CNN and Fox cover the same event and see how our own citizen-reporters lie to their own citizen-viewers. Of course the Chinese lied to us, dumbass. Next issue.

Does the CIA have agents spread throughout China reporting accurate information that just did not make it back?

Did the CIA just drop the ball again and fail to penetrate China for some excuse about “Well...you know it is really hard to do that...” Okay. You couldn’t connect the dots on 911. You couldn’t identify this virus as an emerging threat. Can we just quit funding the CIA if it can’t do what it is supposed to do?

I am not hating on the intelligence community. I am sure they protect our country in ways I will never hear about. I think it is a vital part of national security. But there should be some very important people banging a fist on the desk of the director of the CIA, NSA, DIA, DSS, Naval Intelligence, Army Intelligence, and any other government agency with an intelligence mission demanding a full report on how this was missed.

Quit focusing on the CCP and start asking the real questions: How did our intelligence community fail to start blasting horns in Washington back in December?

Or...did they? However, “we” were balls-deep in a dumbass impeachment trial about some event that not one American gave a shit about in some country that most Americans couldn’t find on a map. Meanwhile, this deadly virus was brewing in the heart of a country that hates us, makes everything we consume, and owns most of our debt.

I am just a dumb southern boy. There is so much about the world I do not know. I understand that. But I feel this is a serious question we should be asking.

Should we focus on stopping this virus first? Hell no! Just because we are fighting the Wuhan virus does not mean something else could not be brewing. Al Quada and ISIS are still watching.
Well, Mr. Dumb Southern Boy, you just posted the million dollar questions that every citizen of the United States should demand immediate answers to. You sir, show more intelligence with that post than almost anything I’ve read in weeks. Well done. It’ll be interesting to see how this all plays out.

This article is a prime example of how taxpayers should be asking different questions. Why is the US government depending on foreign organizations to be honest and forthcoming on threats to our interests? How naive and dim witted are these dumbasses?
We have an entire army of our own James Bond’s all over the world working for DOD, DHS, and DOJ. We better make some serious changes in something to do with the intelligence gathering, analysis, and dissemination process following this disaster. Quit hoping other governments will work in our interest.

upon further consideration, we can’t even be sure China hid information maliciously. Maybe the leaders freaked out and didn’t know what to do. Maybe they were scared the info getting out would collapse their economy, so they hid the info hoping the virus would die out. Maybe, maybe, maybe. What is sure...the only organizations we can count on to look out for us are our US intelligence organizations. Where were they?

Apparently they were there and sent memos about the threat in November & December but were ignored.
Your present administration is not known to listen to the Intelligence Comunity!

That's called a global economy.

Yea...good point. They didn’t get off to an impressive start. Still, if intel had serious concerns this virus would come here, it should have been more than just a memo. This virus is killing more than just Republicans.

I hate to agree with Nancy Pelosi, but there really needs to be an impartial review board established later for an After Action Hotwash to start with intel and end with hospital preparation. Not to target taking down a President but to learn and get better. Congress is not capable to doing this job. It can only be done with several bodies working independently under the management of a private consulting firm like Anderson Cooper, or something like that. Will never happen, if course.

The House's incentive to get this pandemic behind us is different than simply getting it behind us.

.....and yet, 24 hours later, we’re finding out the ABC ‘sources’ about the Pentagon knowing in November, turns out to be fake news. However, I’m sure to some, it doesn’t matter. Orange man bad! It’s tiring.

I’m beginning to believe the Dan Bongino rule of waiting 24-48 hours after MSM supposed breaking news is reported, for the truth to shake out. Especially when sources are mentioned. He hasn’t been wrong yet.

You really need to stop watching fake news.
