Who's NOT boating this season due to COVID?

I hope to boat, but can't get to the boat until they open the dang marina. I don't have any vacation time this year, so my boating will be sporadic at best.

Hope everyone is well.

Just closed our marina today! Said closed for the next 2 weeks.

We are fortunate here in Texas. Marina open only for fuel and supplies, but boat is in the water. Went out last week.

Forecast today is 85 and mostly sunny. Water temp is 65 and warming fast. Thinking I may put the battery back in the Waverunner and go for a long ride.

I was dreading getting this email, but our Marina has clarified they are not open at this time:

TO: Our Valued Boaters,

Following the advice of the Chief Medical Officer and Premier Ford’s updated list of essential services on April 3, 2020, we will do our part in reducing the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

Marinas may only operate "to enable individuals to access their primary place of residence” or “to serve, service, repair, or house emergency, law enforcement and other commercial/essential service boats” until April 19, 2020, unless further extended by the provincial government.

Until then, any launches, shrink wrap removal, service work that was to be completed on your boat by our technicians, repairs and maintenance work that was underway at the marina has been temporarily suspended.

We will be completing regular checks on our buildings, boats, covers and shrink wrap to ensure everything is stable and in good order during this time.

As things are changing day by day, we will be sure to keep you informed with the developments of the marina and we are very hopeful we will all be able to enjoy the boating season.

These are uncertain and difficult times for everyone and so we are happy to arrange payment plans and work with our boaters to assist with the effects of the economy. We will always be available by phone and email to answer your requests and questions.

Thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation.

You guys need to move to Ohio.... I got another call today asking why I am holding up boats behind me from getting splashed... so now I am that guy... I never thought I would ever be “that guy”
Where in Ohio....I am buying a boat in Cincinnati and delayed waiting for them to put the boat in the water. Marinas were closed down!

My marina is back to work on Monday here in CT. They implemented safety measures for their staff. All owners have to sign in and out of their boats on a card that has been attached to every vessel that is on the hard. IF they need to work on your boat they will wait 7 days after your last visit before they touch anything. It looks like they will start on my swim platform install hopefully next week. Hoping to be in the water before the end of the month and social distancing while floating come May.

A little something to break the monotony:

I took delivery of my new dinghy yesterday! It's FAST! Here's to hoping we have some resemblance of a boating season at least.

Here I am cruising along at about 30 KTS ...nowhere near WOT. :)

Michigan Governor extended us today to April 30th and implied heavily that it'll probably be extended again. Sounded like she tightened the screws a bit but she did open car dealerships. Thankfully car dealership have less contact with people outside your immediate family than me and my family on my boat...... They must have better lobbyist than marinas.

Any politician who isn't eyeing a May first "reopening" should be removed from office. I'm not saying a full monty everyone in the pool opening, but with proper social distancing, face masks, etc.

I did not hear her say she was opening car dealerships. If thats the case i will have to go back to work. And if that happens and she wont let me access my boat at the marina i will be truly offended and set a new goal of dissin her to everyone i encounter.

I was at the marina today. There were 4 of us in the storage bldg working on our boats. We were never closer than 20’. When the crew came in they were always 10’ apart..this is doable without government oversight

Made it outside today..... getting closer :)
