Dinghy Navigation electronics

Sorry folks = I should have been more specific. SInce posting in the "dinghies" section, I meant for the tenders

I'm in some really dirty water and would rather not find routes or obstacles using seek and find with the new dinghy
I use my iPad with Navionics. It has built in GPS. I mount it in a Ram Mount. Works really well in the tender. I use it as a backup to my e127/E120 in the boat. Ram Mount there as well.

I run an i pad with navionics as well on the bigger boat as a backup and auto-route aid, but am leary about leaving it mounted in the dinghy when leaving it at restaraunts, etc.

Dragonfly 4pro on a ram mount. With transducer shows depth/temp/ speed.
Next dinghy will have a Garmin 7”

wow some of you guys have some pretty incredible dinghies!

For mine as others have also stated, I use Navionics on an iPad mini mounted to my console via suction cup mount.

The 63cv vice 64cv. I was able to put my nice charts on the Echomap and save $150 in the process. This little bad boy was $250 on sale at WM. Comes w a ducer too. Love it. And love that I can QuickDraw contours and share w the big boat after an expedition.

My wife wouldn't let me put a little GPS on the dingy... Said she wanted something less complicated. I picked my battle with only a little fight and installed a depth finder.

Ditto here except Samsung tablet. I was worried it wouldn't hold but has never popped off.

My walker bay came with seadek in it.
We like it.

Sea Deck could be an add - we'll see. My how a navigation thread deviates!

I had some time on my hands with the Covid situation so used some of that time to upgrade the dingy. Added a Icom m330g VHF with gps built in. We did a lot of exploring last year with the dingy so I thought it would be good to have a more powerful radio on board than the handheld that we have been using. Plus this will eliminate one more thing I need to remember to bring with me.

Jeremy what antenna is that you're using on the dink? Adding a vhf and was thinking of going with one of the small flexible antennas but i'm rethinking that now.

Thanks

I have the same antenna on the dinghy it’s fine for what you need I replaced the fiberglass one it’s not meant for small boats.

They put a small antenna on mine. It looks like the one they used to use on car phones back in the day.
