make oil changes great again !

I have been using the West Marine hand pump and it takes forever to extract all the oil. I’m lucky if I can do one motor in 30 minutes, maybe more. I’m glad I stumbled on this thread b/c I’ve been looking for something to speed up the process and this seems like a viable solution, especially at the price.

Okay I tried a couple electric pumps. what is the ACTUAL time it takes to extract one motor. Mine holds 9qts. If it does it quick I may try it. I bought this one https://www.marinepartssource.com/3...MI7PXn8ef76AIVkIvICh0hSwlKEAQYGiABEgJFq_D_BwE and it works like crap. I can run the motors up to temp a long time and it still takes forever. I tried another electric type pump and it took forever too. I bought this one https://www.westmarine.com/buy/west-marine--manual-oil-changer-6-9-quart--11047123?recordNum=1 and it works much better then any electric I used.

the one i posted drained about 4.5 qts of cold oil - engine not run till last fall - in roughly 15 minutes . with hot oil surely much faster.

the most significant advance to any handpump is - you switch it on and drink a beer , thats all .

I started with the Jabsco you linked to. It was a piece of crap.
Then I switched to the better Jabsco. The one with the pump on top of the bucket. Night and day difference, It’s a great pump and still going strong after 10 years.
Here is a link to it:

My current boat has the Reverso system for the motors and genny, but I use my Jabsco for the transmissions, still use it in my kids boats and on a friends boat.
