Marking anchor rode....

On my all-chain rode I use two 6' lengths of polypropylene line, one blue, one yellow. I have the blue one at 30' the yellow at 60'. I have woven them through the chain links, and tied them at the ends and here and there with waxed canvas thread. Has stood up for years.

I've never heard of this one

lol! Being a CRS sufferer, I made up a guide with a label maker and have it affixed to the boat near the helm. It’s right at the side of my right leg when I’m standing at the helm.

I used to also make a label and stick it under the lid of the down switch at the bow ... easy peasy

They make excellent markers that are not expensive, we used them for years and they held up well.Different colors for different feet deployed.

I used plastic zip ties, every 25' with this scheme:
25' = 1 yellow tie
50' = 2 yellow ties
75' = 3 yellow ties
100' = 1 blue tie
125' = 1 blue, 1 yellow
etc.

Makes it easy to keep track of, without having to remember the coloring scheme. I put them on at the start of last season and they've held up well so far. I snugged them up on the line and then left the tail of the zip tie on (I think they were something like 4" ties) so I can easily see and count them from the helm.

Been using paint for several years and never had those problems. I use Rustoleum out of spray cans.

This is what I did on my last boat and held up fine. Just found a can to throw in the truck so I can mark the new boat this weekend.

Figured out that it would be helpful to mark after I had to swim for my last boat after a day on the sandbar...

I spray my all chain rode, marked at 30ft increments, using the following repeating colors and memory jogger:

Rub Your B**bs With Glitter

Red, Yellow, Blue, White, Green

saw it on some yacht tv show or somewhere....works great!
