410 Sundancer/Express Cruiser and 400 Sundancer/Express Cruiser **Official Thread**

‘97 400 DA with 3116TAs. Seems I am in need of two fuel sending units. One was replaced a couple years ago with the Universal one from Flounder Pounder but only reads from empty to half full. The other (port) seems to have stopped working altogether. Replaced the gauge hoping that was it but no luck.

Anyone have a lead on a fuel sending unit that will work? All I can find are “universal” ones. Thanks!!

I ordered my tank dimensions from the manufacturer to make sure I got the right sender. The tank depth in both of mine is 26"s, a universal moeller unit that is 26" capable works pefectly. I did starboard and it was very easy. The port side going through the access hatch looks to be a bitch. Haven't needed to attempt that one.

Here is one that will work. Moeller Mfg. # 035729-10 $34 from Westmarine.

Ice maker conversion to fridge complete. I still need to connect the 12V side but I ran lines to make that a semi-easy project once I get a breaker for it.

Good times...

Pardon the beer selection. It was a quick first fill for the weekend :)

Read back on the history for fuel senders - most of us use the WEMA SSS/SSL senders. https://kus-usa.com/product/sss-ssl-sender/

Or if you have or are considering putting a N2K network on board, Maretron fuel senders are a great upgrade.

Its about a 3 hour job to replace both, and the port one is a bitch. Might as well only do it once

Anybody know how much chain will fit in a 400 anchor chain locker without causing issues? Is 200' sufficient for Great Lakes boating?

All depends on how deep and the weather you plan to anchor in. All chain allows a lot less scope for the same anchor depth and weather conditions. Were on an inland lake and on nice days we hang 3-4 30+ cruisers on a 3:1 or 4:1 scope with 30' of chain, the rest line. Even in a 20 kt wind or gusts, we don't move. Bottom is red clay.

Lots of good reading in you google all chain rode, but here's a quick guide from BoatUS. 200' of chain in 35' water gets you around 5:1. I personally think that is a pretty good setup. If your deeper or heavier weather, more is better (up to a point). Your windlass maker will have a specification on how deep the anchor locker must be for it to work correctly. I want to say from memory, you need 16" of fall below a Progress 1.

Last time I looked, 1/2 a barrel of 5/16" G4 windlass chain (275') delivered was about 1 boat buck.

Can anyone please post a picture of their 410 aft cabin filler cushions? I believe I'm missing a filler for the gap created when you convert the motorized couch to a bed. Thanks

I purchased some white speaker material to recover all my Interior speakers. Unfortunately, you can see the ugly wooden ring and black speaker behind the fabric. Sea ray originally put some kind of paper fiber material behind the fabric to solve this problem. Does anyone know what it is or where to get it?

That filler cushion is an odd duck...about 4’ long, 8” wide and stepped on the bottom. I’ll get you a picture this week.

For a replacement, you can buy bed foam and cut a new one. Upholstery shop would do same thing.

I stick mine under the pull out settee, so check there if you haven’t already.

Do you know if the cushion on the 410 is the same as the one on the 400. I think I have two!
