Hi guys,
My two Shakespeare 8ft antennas are in need of replacement, breaking off near the thread.......sunlight and age.....sounds like me lol
Anyway instead of buying the whole replacement and cables, could I not just purchase new antennas and just swap them out keeping my original cable hook ups?
Cheers Rob

You can splice the cable. They also make new mounts that the cable terminates into the mount, and you can screw a new antenna on to the mount...never have to rerun the wire.

On mine, the cable is pretty degraded, and one of these days, I intend to re run the wire or go to the new mount style.

For the effort involved splicing the cable, might just be simpler to pull the new wire.

Thanks David

I just replaced mine, it already had a coupling in it just below the arch.
You never know, yours may too. The directions on my antenna said you can shorten the cable, but to make sure it was at least so long. Sorry, I don't remember the length it said.
