Mid to late 90's 420 aft cabin

I am looking at and considering purchasing a 1996 420 aft cabin. She has I believe 7.4 Mercruiser engines with 635 hours. The boat appears well maintained from the service records.I will have a survey done and my mechanic will check the engines and genset. What is the HP on them? I see in other ads anywhere from 320 to 380. Assuming 380, is that boat underpowered. Any problems with that year and or model. I know it has a cored hull. Assuming there is no moisture issues by now, I also will assume there wont be any in the future.

I wouldn’t make the assumption. Cored hull should be monitored around any thru hulls and the like. Be especially weary of any after the factory add ons. Good Luck.

I know there is no balsa around factory theu hulls but as you said no telling if there were after market stuff and will find out when the boat is pulled out for survey.
