410 Sundancer/Express Cruiser and 400 Sundancer/Express Cruiser **Official Thread**

That filler cushion is an odd duck...about 4’ long, 8” wide and stepped on the bottom. I’ll get you a picture this week.

For a replacement, you can buy bed foam and cut a new one. Upholstery shop would do same thing.

I stick mine under the pull out settee, so check there if you haven’t already.
Thanks Dave,
Based on those dimensions I am definitely missing that piece. I have looked under the settee and only the the cushions to convert the settee to a bed are there. I would very much appreciate a picture of that odd duck filler if you wouldn't mind. Thanks again.

Hi I’m looking at a 03 410 DA ,oil burner ,

I would say that mine did. I never added on to my tabs, but the attitude never bothered me running...

I had a 06-400 , with gas 420 hp , ran great planes great but couldn’t see over the windshield , I’m only 5,9’ , but when I ran the boat up to 3800 , the bow came down some and then used tabs To bring it down more .
I’ve never had diesels, so a little scared of them , it’s fresh water, jumping into new horizons

Put a few hundred feet of chain in the anchor locker. It'll help the bow rise a touch.

If you're uber worried about bow height...get gas. Light as a feather :)

Looks like your from the Great Lakes area. This would be a GREAT boat for the Great Lakes.

I personally think the boat runs at a nice attitude with the stock tabs. I run at 2300-2400 full tabs down. Wider would have been better, but there is just not that much real estate on the transom.

With the Diesel engines, you are up on plane in just a few seconds, I put the tabs all the way down and power strait to the desired RPM (unlike gas were you go full throttle to get up on plane then pull back to cruise power). I turn on the engine sync and you can cruise all day in about anything your crew can comfortably handle.

Do you know if the cushion on the 410 is the same as the one on the 400. I think I have two!

here are some pics and dimensions. I think a filler could be constructed DIY from some basic 3” marine foam. Over all it 62” long, 8” wide and 6” deep. The step on either side is 3” deep and 11 1/2” wide. There is a bevel on the front side that matches the top of the seat back once laid down...maybe 15 deg.

Unfortunately...those are washed. On the list. I’ll send them as a template and you can send back new ones!

They go in when I’m working to save what’s left of the carpet.

I have gas and pop up on plane without having to go full throttle. Not sure where you’re hearing that from.

This is how I was taught to operate gas boats. Get it up and over the “hump”.

The diesel boat has a “hump” but powers through it nicely.

She does run bow high before plaining, but with trim tabs all the way down, she planes off pretty quickly. I run her at 2200 to 2250, with trim tabs all the way down. I am 5’6” “Tall” (according to Starbucks), and while cruising I am able to sit and see over the bow looking thru the windshield. For the record, when my captains chair base stopped going up, I replaced it with a new base from Garelick, and went with a 2” taller version.

I was just giving you a hard time. My old runners looked similar. It's why I went charcoal black with my new set. Can't hardly see anything...pets or otherwise :)

post a picture...I’d like to see how they look.

Yeah sure.

Ignore the chalk lines in this photo, I wasn't done yet. This was before I was done cutting, no binding, not snapped tight yet. You'll notice in the other picture that the dark colors seem to form lines around the hatches below...I probably just need to wash them though.

The admiral and I are pleased with the color. It looks better with some lighter color mats to break it up though.

I like the color with the lighter mats! What material and color did you use? Sunbrella has a lot of options beyond the usual bimini/camper top material.

Many gas boats need that. Ours don't.

Diesel 410 Dancers ride bow high, for sure, but they also ride well.

That is Sunbrella and the color is "Slate". I have a "charcoal tweed" for my canvas...
