Hey everyone!! Hope this ask finds you on your boats and enjoying a cold beverage!!

My vacuflush system is not flushing. It fills with water but won't empty with the foot pedal. The tank is empty but my maceration system has somehow been energized (seacock is closed but the light is on). Is there a shutoff to the system if the maceration system is powered or is there a way to check if the vacuum pump is working??

Can't speak to the auto shut off, but you should be able to hear the pump cycle of it's working. Assuming it is running and the water is not going down, you have a plug in the line most likely. Alternatively the pump bellow or the duck valves are shot.

I can't hear anything going on when you push the foot pedal other than the water entering the bowl. Does that suggest a bad motor???

I suppose it depends on the size of the boat. On my 340 the thumping of the vacuuflush is unmistakable. The motors on those things last forever. Given that your macerator light is on, I would bet there's an automatic cut off switch. Alternatively a loose connection. Check for power at the pump. That would give you an indication. If the breaker is on, you have no vacuum, and there's no power at the pump, it's an electrical issue. I know there's an auto shutoff when the tank is full.

I wouldn't go to major failure immediately but it is a possibility... I always try to keep it to "kiss" keep it simple stupid... So check all breakers, switches etc before you start spending money...

Just a thought, hold the pedal down And gently use a plunger. Be careful doing this as its possible you can invert your duckbill valves.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I am heading out to the boat today and will try all of these ideas with KISS as a leading mentality!! Let y'all know how it goes!!
