We have looked a a few different boats narrowing down to the 380/410 dancer with diesels
price of course is a huge factor and we have seen some nice boats and some bad ones..
my issue is same power in both models 3126 with 350hp.. but the 380 weighing less has lower performance numbers at cruise
is the 380 hull just not able to get on a good level plane with the weight?
one 380 owner stated 17 knots cruise 28 top end cruise .8MPG that seems to be gas numbers , he said new bottom and props are 3 blade..

any thoughts? we love the 410s.. just rare and pricey when nice

380 18Klbs
410 22Klbs

My 380 cruises at around 23 knots per the specs. No issues getting on plane at all. That said, I’d love a longer boat. The extra feet make a huge difference with guests on anchor.

We had a 400 gasser. Loved it for its living area. Much better lay out than 380 if you want living space.

it was 18kts .5 nm per gallon.

Gasser was work around the dock. Diesel 400 likely very nice.

I went through same decision process, started looking for a 380, ended up with a 2001 410. Its a GREAT boat. I have a daughter and the second (separate with a hard sliding door) cabin/head make having her friends up easy, and the reason I went with the 410. Just 2, a 380 is a great option.

I have the 350 hp 3126's. I run at the recommended RPM 2300-2400 aright around 20-21 kts, burning right around 20 gals/hr. Cocktail speed is about 900-950 RPM at 7-7.5 kts burning 3 gals/hr, or a fast cocktail at 1200 RPM burning about 4 gals/hr. The 380 should get a little better unless there is an issue with the bottom, running gear etc. Send me a PM, I have a spread sheet of my speeds/RPM vs fuel burn.

It is extremely easy to dock, and is responsive around the dock (Diesel versions usually had 4 blad props from the factory)

Neal,
Not the same boat but my heavier 400DB (Sedan Bridge) with Cat 3116's gets a consistent 21.5 kts @ 2400 RPM burning 22 GPH, which is exactly what the Cat specs call out for that motor. 17 kts is slow for that combo on a 380.

My search started with looking at 380’s too, then led to 410’s.
The 380 is a nice boat, but I’m really glad I went with a 410 instead.
The pocket door and separate head in the aft cabin make a big difference and the extra room between the motors because of the wider beam is nice too.
