Official 2003.5-2008 340 Sundancer Thread

I should add shower box bilge pump is the one that’s not working
Have you metered it out confirming it is not getting power? If not I would start with the automatic float switch. Mine was so full of crud it would not trigger the pump. This pic is the day I opened it for the first time. To test there is a manual override to the left and right of where the wires connect to the float switch. Circled in the pic below. Try turning it either way, all the way, and if the pump kicks on the switch is the issue. I took the water hose from the dock, flushed/cleaned everything out, which resolved the issue.

I’ll try the manual over ride
I hooked 12v power directly to the pump and wasn’t getting anything I think the pump is done but I am now getting power there

Nothing happens with the over ride
Replace the works I guess
All the wires where cut when I got the boat
Hopefully I have it wired right
Power to the float
Power from the other float wire to the pump and to the switch or alarm whatever it is
And negative from the pump to the negative on the harness coming from the back

Working out some kinks on my new to me 07 340 one of the issues I’m having is the shower pump doesn’t seem to have any power at the pump any thoughts?
Is there a fuse or breaker somewhere for this ?
I see a sump breaker in the engine room
Not sure where to start

How about the second pump aft of the shower sump box? Does that one work? Try the override on that float switch to make it run. That is if those wires weren't cut as well. You can see the float switch for that pump in the top left corner of my previous pic. When my shower sump box would overflow the the next pump would kick-in, pump out the compartment, and a "Forward Sump Alarm" would sound on the SmartCraft. Not a big deal in the short-term, but you do want to keep that shower grime in the box and not in the floor of the compartment.

I got it all working over the weekend required a new pump
The forward pump worked as well but no alarm sounded
Onto the next problem
My bilge button on the dash panel doesn’t work
The pump works when I trigger the float
Any ideas ?

EIM.... just went through this with mine. stbd pad quit, so I replaced both pads and boxes with toggle and rocker switches as well as fuse boxes.

340 is awesome with 496s and Br IIIs and bow thruster. We do keep ours on a lift in the lower Potomac. Not sure how the 6.2s would be. It does not maneuver well around the doc without the bow thruster, but do enjoy the extra space and workroom in the engine room.
I would also not have this setup if wet slipping.

Was this the kit from FP? If so, how did the install go? Straight forward?

When I activate the bilge manually the light on the dash still illuminates just doesn’t work when I push the button. There’s a new keypad online for sale would I just be able to replace the keypad or do I have to change the module as well ?

I guess you have a 50/50 chance.

I did my own rewire with switches and fuse boxes. Probably got 40 hrs reverse engineering sea rays electrical schematic and a day making the harness and about 2 days install. I posted it under ( EIM to toggle and rocker switches ) if you want to see what it looked like.

My bilge button on the dash turns on the lights in the engine compartment. I do not believe we have a manual bilge button on the dash but I could be wrong. I as well assumed the bilge button would run the pump at the bottom of the engine compartment. The float switch keeps mine pumped out as needed.

This is the manual Bilge Pump button:

These are all light controls:

on my 340SDA the "comp" controls the light in the transom storage.

Lol did this job three weeks ago very easy, keep adjusting the threads around until it tighten and the 90 is facing the direction u need it to

Got the part info from your post. Thanks! Tried to PM you, but apparently didn't work. Looking at the broken pieces, it looks like there is an insert that needs to be unscrewed, then the coupler placed between the insert and the elbow. What tool did you use to remove and then retighten the insert? Did you need any caulk/plumber's putty to make it water tight?

I removed with water pump pliers and Tightened it up by hand. I don’t think I put anything on it and it doesn’t leak at all. One piece threads into another piece so u just have to keep adjusting so they come tight and the 90 faces the correct way.

Just took delivery of our "new to us" 2006 340 Sundancer. We fell in love with the pewter hull and the layout of the boat. Now that we have had it out a couple times we love it even more. We have been cleaning and personalizing the boat and hopefully will be camping out this weekend.
Maybe this has been covered and although I have been a member for years I don't post very much.
It seems that my head compartment lights only work when the cabin lights are on. Does this sound correct? If I wake up to use the head I have to turn on the cabin lights to turn on the head lights? Maybe something you guys could help me with.
Also battery charger is making a very high pitched buzz. Does this mean it is bad or going bad? How to access charger for closer inspection/replacement. According to the gauges it is charging.
I am sure I will have more questions as I get to know our new boat better.
