I take it a Cat tech didn’t do a mechanical survey? They have a proprietary “blow by” test. Also they will sample the oil and coolant to get a better picture of the engines health.

Most Sea Ray's will show the same performance numbers if the owner has the boat propped for a different load that the survey conditions. For example, we very seldom cruise our boat with more than 2 adults onboard so she is propped to turn 2800rpm with 2 average sized adult, full fuel; full water and 1/2 waste in order top keep the engine load at optimum. If you surveyed my boat today with 5 adults onboard, she'd turn about 2725rpm @ WOT. Certainly not a concern because we know why the rpm is a bit low and not a deal breaker or a reason to reject the boat, just an adjustment you may consider when you determine if you are going to be hauling 5 adults around with you.

Yes a cat tech did do all that
It’s in the full engine survey

Did you get the oil sample back yet? That’s just as important.
yes sir.. everything was good

right now I have a bad alternator on stbd motor $525 to replace
hoses and belts need attention along with yearly services on engines/trannys and genny

I am getting an estimate on the hoses and belts etc.. see how much I funnel to the seller

How many hours on the engines? The reason I ask is if you look at this purchase as starting from scratch do the 1000 service and the boat is good for the next 5-6 years. You’re buying a boat from miami. That’s a whole different world down there and please take no offense because I did the same thing. Make sure your props are good and don’t need to be reconditioned, drip seals aren’t leaking, hoses aren’t worn out, gent drip pan(rust). If you are close to that service interval do the after coolers and the rest and have it done. Start from scratch. Just a thought. By the way a 1000 service will run you 7-8K in Miami.

@JPGator...What 1000 hr service are you refering to?

1060 hrs on both

1000 hr was done with confirmed receipts
Replaced both aftercoolers in fall 2019

I do have a tide seal with a leak
Spoke with Jeff strong at tides working on getting new seals ASAP
the owners had an open check book but there are hose issues I’m addressing

Boat has good clean bottom but needs fresh paint
Underwater gear has prop speed props and shafts balanced and gone thru by FJ prop Miami

They replaced both aftercoolers? They couldn’t be serviced? Otherwise it’s sounds pretty good. Congrats amigo.

That’s a curious one. Those are 3K each aren’t they? Where you keeping the boat?
