Pet Peeves (Anything Goes)

3) The 18 wheeler that suddenly swings into the left lane cutting you off, to pass the ever so slightly slower 18 wheeler in front of him. When there is absolutely no one in sight behind you.
This.

Why do females want to be referred to as "guys" ?
Why do females want to be referred to as "dudes" ?
Call me picky but this is carrying equality too far. It can somtimes be difficult enough to tell a "guy" from a "gal" for various reasons so you "Dudettes" need to use your own gender specific tags to help cut down on this confusion. :)

FWIW I don't mind what you call me as long it's, "not too late for dinner". :)

Turn signals. Lack of using them.

Welcome to Florida!!! One of the main reasons here you see turn signals permanently on is because the drivers have untreated hearing loss and can't hear the "tick" of the signal to turn it off. You see it all the time here, most annoying.

Holy crap.... I bought a CB last week just so I can yell at them and try to understand why..... $50 at loves

Another comes to mind as it happens ever to frequently. Anchored with a few other boats rafted up, totally out of the mainstream of boat traffic and some idiot runs by you, making a wake the size of Texas, or is going just the right speed towing a tube to plow by making yet a bigger wake (2-3 foot) and is only 50 feet off your stern with a half a mile plus of water available to keep a safe distance. Then turn around and do it again. Some just have No idea how inconsiderate this is and destructive it can be. On the water, this is definitely our number one.

Wake board boats or big centre consoles with a 10000 watt sound system....you hear them coming before you see them.....the operator thinking “hey, I’m having a good time...it’s all about me!!” As if their wakes aren’t bad enough.
And it may be sacrilege to some, but more than a little tired of “go fast boats” with straight exhausts...that go blasting by you 30’ off your beam when there is 1/2 a mile of open water.
Do you see a common thread here? Guess I’m getting old..
The Thousand Islands are getting smaller and smaller every year.

We were at an otherwise quiet anchorage last weekend and a (gulp) SeaRay 310 made its way in with about 10 people BLARING techno. They then proceeded to anchor and BBQ ..all the while hosting a dance party. Pretty sure I could see the water rippling from the bass hits. It was truly obnoxious and everyone (about 20 other boats there) were glaring at them but they seemed completely oblivious to their surroundings. After about 90 minutes of this absurdity, they piled all but 2 of the boats occupants on to the bow as they departed and dropped the hammer while not clear of the anchorage. Everyone got a nice rocking from their wake ..a final parting gift. I could still hear the bass beats long after they were out of sight.

Damn ... now that sounds like fun :)
We had a boat like that last night at the end of the dock .... if it wasn’t for my wife saying no 4 times.... I would have been up there.

We are in Herrington Harbor for the passed two days. We are on the transient dock which is out front near the jetties. The no wake zone starts at the jetties. Evidently, here in the Peoples Republic of Maryland, no wake means something different. I had a center console about 28 foot, come by me nearly on plane. They don't care. Rules are for suckers.

So sick of the "lookie-loos" who hire boats they don't know how to drive. They come and cruise down the canals to look at the rear of homes on the water and give out so much wake it bashes our boats against the pilings.

y'all need one of these. This was the best pic I could find of a spud gun and this one has not had the barrel attached yet. They're VERY noisy, mine can shoot a spud over 100 yards, the ammo is cheap and best of all they're not a firearm so no permits or licensing are required.

Thanks for the idea! Sounds like a plan! Will have to see if I can find one.

I used to use mine a lot when I towed the big boat, but nowadays most truckers are yakking on the phone, or worse, watching porn while they drive.

Edit: truck ran over car slowing for construction, watching porn and doing other things besides driving. At least one dead. Happened in Indy...
