$5k Investment NOW - Let's Beat the Covid Blues w/investment fun

and this is why I'm a day trader...lol. but i actually keep forgetting about this so haven't looked at DIS for awhile

I have spread out my money across a number of investments. Started with you guys at $6,800. Now at $7,350 today.

Tried buying NVDA calls at the open today at 1.89 but couldn't get filled. They hit 4.40 about 10 minutes later. Did get filled on DIS calls at about 12:50 today but sold too early.

Entered on the candle where the white arrow is right when it broke over that white line. This shows the 60 minute, 30 minute and 15 minute charts L-R.

Here is a 3 minute chart to give a better look at my entry. Got in at 12:51

As right as you are, you lost most of us, as we buy, never look at it until we have to because of a life event.
I make money other ways, so I get the cash flow thing. One of my buds told a story back in the good old 2004 days as a day trader, of his wife calling him one day to say she loved him, and what could they do for dinner. He replied, you just cost me 2000 dollars. Too speedy of a day for me.

Yep. That happens. Been having issues with Thinkorswim lately and it has cost me money a few times. When I was in the office I lost a few hundred a few times when my manager walked in and I had to close out of it until he left. But the same principals apply whether it's day trading or longer term investing

How's everyone doing with their investments? I'm up $2,344 with ZM as of today. I'm still liking my SHOP better though.
Good luck all..

Forgot about it...lol. Made 26% on TSLA today in about 2 hours though (real money)

Zoom (ZM) had a great day today.....My 5000.00 is worth 16,476.84 as of close today. Up 11,476.84 so far. My 300.00 pps buy on SHOP is now at 1134.32 pps.
Another one I picked up a few weeks ago is Fastly (FSLY) at 41 pps and is now at 95.40... Sure wish I would have kept my Apple and Tesla purchases in my IRA.

Nice! I kind of forgot about this. I sold PYPL calls today that I bought last week. Made about 50%. Friday I bought AMD calls and sold them yesterday for 54% win. But got my butt kicked today on AMZN calls but that's part of the game. Bought SBUX calls today for $3.04 each. They expire in October but I'm up 4.44% so far...lol. Looking for about 50% win on these too. Also holding DKNG calls but down 10% on those right now.

Thanks for the reminder! Here's where we're at as of today. Only one of us poor suckers is losing money but it's not a shock - rental cars :) @Jimmy Buoy

@JVM225 leads the way at $11k to the positive. MGM narrowly beats out Zoom performance.

I have a mixed portfolio of "fun money" that started about $6K at the same time and is now led by Haliburton and MGM and is up 46.26%.

I just bought TWTR $43 calls for October expiration a couple of hours ago and I'm up 28% so far. My SBUX I bought yesterday is up 15% and my DKNG I have been holding about a week is up 10%. Also daytraded AAPL puts a little bit ago for 22% win.
I'm trading out of 2 accounts. The top one is my longer term account and the bottom one is my daytrade account

I wish i had played. I dumped 3k into Community Health Systems, CYH, back in march when they bottomed out at 2.75 a share. They are up to 5.25 now. Really any of the big public health systems you could of made a killing on (HCA, Tenet, UHS). CYH has struggled horribly over the past past 5 years, back when they were $50+ a share, due to a bad acquisition. They are now finally stable and have completed their divestiture strategy. I wager they will start crawling above $10 a share by end of Q1 next year. Healthcare is my business so i tend to follow/invest in the space... Not that i know what i'm talking about.... o_O

Ended the day +$565.50 in my swing trade account and +$$255 in my day trade account. Sold my SBUX calls for 62% win, sold 1 TWTR contract in each account for 40.8% win and 34%, lost 18.2% on NVDA calls, and down 7% on mt INTC calls I bought. But overall one of my better days by far. Wish they were all like this...lol. Lost $318 on AMZN calls yesterday so it isn't always a green day here.
