Apparently the governor has changed her mind and thinks that walls work.


Michigan Democratic governor Gretchen Whitmer’s state-owned residence is getting $1.1 million in security upgrades, including an eight-foot-tall perimeter fence.

Whitmer has long questioned the effectiveness of physical barriers, but is asking Michigan taxpayers to foot the bill for a seven-figure project to keep out uninvited guests. The governor’s office confirmed the renovation on Friday, telling the Detroit Newsthat the wall would help “ensure the safety, security, and protection of any sitting governor and the first family.” The renovation will include an electrified fence that Whitmer claims is necessary because of threats she has received.

What threats???? According to the latest polls she has a 99.9874678% approval rating!

Apathy strikes again.

Lots will sit around and complain, but aren't willing to take the time to sign a petition. These are the same that find voting inconvenient.
 
With all the negative press on the wall she is building around our home.... How stupid are you when you were so vocal against Trump’s wall.... these dictators are unbelievable
 
Can you imagine what would be said if the following came from the mouth of Trump?

“It is important to note that this ruling does not take effect for at least 21 days, and until then, my emergency declaration and orders retain the force of law,” Whitmer said in a statement.”

The court just said what she was doing is wrong and she plans to continue it for another 21 days because that’s how long it takes for the ruling to be official.

She plans to keep on doing what she’s doing, the court decision be damned.

“Furthermore, after 21 days, many of the responsive measures I have put in place to control the spread of the virus will continue under alternative sources of authority that were not at issue in today’s ruling.”

That’s how they do it they can perpetrate injustice at a moments notice and it takes the good people months if not years to get justice.

Governor’s Orders Remain In Effect for At Least 21 Days; Thereafter, Many Public Health and Other Rules Will Continue Under Alternative Authorities



“Since the beginning of this crisis, I have done everything in my power to protect our seniors, small businesses, and first responders from the worst public health emergency in over a century. Thanks to the hard work of millions of Michiganders who sacrificed and did the right thing, we have saved thousands of lives and laid the foundation for a strong economic recovery. But COVID-19 still poses a clear and present danger to the people of Michigan, our economy, and our way of life.



“This virus has now killed more Michiganders than World War I. It is a novel virus for which there is no cure, and which has infected the President of the United States, members of the United States Congress, and Legislators across our state. This virus continues to take the lives of Americans every single day, and without a cure or approved vaccine, that will continue for the foreseeable future.



“Today’s Supreme Court ruling, handed down by a narrow majority of Republican justices, is deeply disappointing, and I vehemently disagree with the court’s interpretation of the Michigan Constitution. Right now, every state and the federal government have some form of declared emergency. With this decision, Michigan will become the sole outlier at a time when the Upper Peninsula is experiencing rates of COVID infection not seen in our state since April.

So I guess "pulling together as Americans" doesn't mean working with the Michigan legislature, elected by the people, to enact balanced polices to handle the virus. Good to know.

You beat me to it. Fuck her. Just ignore the illegal orders. Open up and if accosted by the dem police hand them a copy of the Supreme Court decision. In fact, post it on the door to your business.
 
Imagine what would be going on if their Supreme Court was stacked with dems........

The only choice then is to pack up and leave which is exactly what is going on in Kalifornia, New York and New Jersey.

Ya. She is vindictive and uses the power of her office to harass your business. It is uneconomic to fight her unless you have very deep pockets. She uses your money to harass and it takes your money to fightback. It's an unfair fight.
