Did you end up installing camera in the engine room? If so, is it a wired or wireless model?
Tim,
You asked about the Engine Room camera. I have a Raymarine CAM220 there now. Complete infra red for keeping an eye on things while underway. I formerly had a Garmin analogue camera with my E120 previous set up. Incredible difference going to a digital IP camera. And yes, everything hardwired.

Question: What is that white box in front of the generator?

Thank you! I'm looking for a wireless model that I can move if possible. Thank.

Hello fellow SR fans! Despite having believed our 340 'dancer was the boat of our dreams, the bug bit us (well, more so me than the bride) and we have an offer in on a 2003 460. So other than saying hello and hoping to join the 460 clan, any things I should be looking for when we survey? Although I'm totally clueless about them, I'm really looking forward to diesels!
Do yourself a favor and take the 2 diesel courses at the Annapolis School of Seamanship. I did that when I started looking for my first diesel boat.

Oh great. Just another project to put on the list. Looks great! But what's the rocker switch to the left where the stereo should be?

RE: A/C Raw Water Sea Strainer. Over the last month or so, I have been cleaning out the strainer and basket every two weeks. I put a small piece of copper pipe in the basket along with two bromide tablets each time I cleaned the strainer and basket. I cleaned it today after three weeks and it was, for the first time, a piece of cake. No marine growth. Removed and cleaned the basket. Wet Vac'd the housing, replaced the basket and a quick rinse with a fresh water hose and I was done. Thanks for the tip off for the copper and tablets. Made it very easy.

Geoff, the new stereo is a JL Audio MM50 and it's interesting that you should note that switch. The JL is a small unit and we had to make an adapter plate to cover the hole from the original (bigger) Clarion unit. With the new Raymarine electronics set up, I simply ran out of switch positions on the starboard helm so I put the camera power to a separate switch beside the stereo in that plate. Didn't know where else to put it. Previously I had the cameras (I have 3: a CAM210 for the ClearCruise and two CAM220's for Engine Room and Back-up) on the same power supply as my Network switch. A six position Blue Seas bus.
During a trip this summer I blew the fuse to the network bus one evening while I had my screens on watching the Sirius weather. Puzzling, but what I realized was that all three cameras went into an infra-red mode after dark, and therefore drew more power. So I separated the cameras from the rest of the network and gave them their own Blue Seas bus with that switch to control them. Works great now.

Hi guys. I was down at the boat today cleaning the bilge and noticed water in the front bilge but it wasn't being pulled out. Then I tried to test the float switch and nothing.... no bueno. When I turn the bilge on with the rocker switch, the bilge pump works just fine. Therefore, it's just the float switch. It's really difficult to see down but it looks like it's a rule-a-matic 20a. When I do a google search, I don't see an exact replacement where they have the dials you can turn to test the unit. Is it fair to say that unit is no longer? What should I replace it with? Thoughts? Thank you.
