I'm surprised a thread hasn't been started. In the spirit of Minneapolis & St. Paul declaring today Ruth Bader Ginsburg Day, I'm curious on your thoughts about her, and what's ahead.

Regardless of party, unless you're a complete tyrant, it's sad to hear about prominent people passing away. I take no joy in it. I wish her and her loved ones my condolences.

Now onto the part that I find disturbing.

I saw on the morning news today that the MN Vikings rugby team lost to the Colts rugby team, but that wasn't what disturbed me. It was that this was RBG's last wish. WTF?

That's your last wish? This demonstrates IMO that she was not impartial but purely political. Most knew this already. If this was truly her last wish, well, it's sad. One would think while knocking on Heaven's door you would wish for something more related towards friends and family.

As far as replacing RBG, I do not see what the issue is. It is not the same as 2016. Obama/Democrats did not control the Senate. Also, regardless who would have won, it would have been a new administration. So comparing this to 2016 is a red hearing. I also remember "Hillary by a Landslide", so I assume they figured that the election was going their way. Now they're "implying" that Trump appointing a SCOTUS before an election is unconstitutional, and will impeach him??

Anyway, those are some of my thoughts.....

Had her last wish been stated as the quick and orderly reconstitution of the court, I would have been more inclined to believe it.

I'd be surprised she said what they claim she said, "My most fervent wish is that I will not be replaced until a new president is installed,"

She already apologized for improper comments she made about Trump in 2016 saying, 'Judges should avoid commenting on candidates for public office'. I doubt her last wish would display a lack of impartiality and bias.

Come on man, it’s been weekend at Bernie’s for six months. They can have her say whatever they want her to say. LOL

Someone should have told her that 4.5 years was just too long to wait to fill a Supreme Court seat right before her last breath.

Now that Covid19 is not the hot topic anymore, sleepy Joe is going to have to think on his feet. Democrats' worst nightmare.

Who on their deathbed worries about their replacement at work?

This is a new low for the dems. FDR is revered more than Obama for dems. FDR made 8 appointments to the Supreme Court over 12 years. Two of them were in the months leading up to his re-elections. Still this is the same guy that wanted to stack the Court with more New Deal justices because he didn't like the way they ruled. His own Party torpedoed that idea.

History and the Constitution are on Trump's side. The dems can whine all them want but if it was reversed....you know exactly what they would do.

I'm cooking popcorn now so I can watch how the dems spin throwing mud at a female Judge nominee with impeccable credentials for the next 42 days.

The Democrats have done everything possible to eject Trump from the Presidency since before he even took office. The nasty crap they have been pulling for the last 3.5 years is disgusting. The misery they put Kavanaugh through was criminal. They are willing to let their own cities burn to further their agenda. They have continuously attempted to grab power through fear mongering. They've got people afraid to leave their own homes over this pandemic. It's their fault they have put an Alzheimer's patient up for their Presidential candidate. Maybe if they had spent their time grooming a good candidate instead of blocking Trump at every angle things would be different. The Republicans need to jam this appointment right down their throats sideways if possible. If they can impeach a President during an election year, the Republicans can certainly fill a seat to the Supreme Court. I don't really care if they're all butt hurt. I used to be a moderate. This crap has pushed me way to the right permanently. I can honestly say that I despise the Democratic party and most of what it stands for these days.

Exactly!!

You know damn well that piece of shit Romney is a no too

I've been thinking about that. You may very well be correct. No doubt that Romney hates Trump, but this isn't a Trump issue. This is all about the balance of the Supreme Court for possibly decades to come. Utah is a very conservative state. If Romney blocks a conservative nominee to be voted on, his senate career might very well be over. I think he might have to swallow hard and go along with Mitch and Co.

He voted to impeach Trump.... the guy is a traitor...plain and simple

Just across the Wires:

Senator Mitt Romney announced Tuesday he’ll support holding a confirmation vote on a new Supreme Court justice, dealing a crushing blow to Democrats’ hopes of stalling a nominee until Inauguration Day. ...

But he also said it depends on who the nominee is.... the only time Pence is useful

Indeed. You watch, the minute Trump picks a nominee, and the Democrats pull another "Ballsey Ford", Romney will say he can't vote unless the truth is revealed.
