Hello All,
Here is my dilemma, I am currently winterizing a 97 Sea Ray 280 sun sport, my holding tank was filled inadvertently with fresh water to the point the pump wont work, there is no solid waste in the tank, could I use a transfer pump and slip a hose with a cut end in there to get that water out ?? would that work ? what are my alternatives ?
thank you for your time gentlemen

What do you mean the pump won't work? A pump-out vacuum pump? If that's the case I would suspect that the holding tank vent filter has been saturated and clogged, preventing air from entering the tank when pumping out.

You could try changing the vent filter and see if that solves the issue. Next would be to perhaps siphon out the tank with a hose and let it drain somewhere. It's still going to have some raw sewage in it, so consider than when draining and disposing of the effluent. Then replace the vent filter with a new, dry one.
