Face Shields..

If you think that most of these masks do anything more than act as a spittle catcher you have been duped.
But catching spittle is a good thing isn't it? You wouldn't want some maskless guy hacking up a storm next to you and then asking 'did I get any on ya?', would you?;)

It is a normal part of human life, do I want it, no, I do not. But government mandates that go against human nature I want even less then some guy to cough near me.

They’re unsanitary to the user. It has nothing to do w outward or expelling virus in saliva. Mask is supposedly to protect inhaling virus.
So much BS about masks.
They’re no longer a health item, they’re political indicators and symbols.
Symbol of stupidity and ignorance imo.

Ya’ll seen this?

At least three times.
From the authors:
"We understand that some people are citing our Perspective article (published at NEJM.org) as support for discrediting widespread masking. In truth, the intent of our article was to push for more masking, not less. It is apparent that many people with SARS-CoV-2 infection are asymptomatic or presymptomatic yet highly contagious and that these people account for a substantial fraction of all transmissions. Universal masking helps to prevent such people from spreading virus-laden secretions, whether they recognize that they are infected or not.
We did state in the article that “wearing a mask outside health care facilities offers little, if any, protection from infection,” but as the rest of the paragraph makes clear, we intended this statement to apply to passing encounters in public spaces, not sustained interactions within closed environments. A growing body of research shows that the risk of SARS-CoV-2 transmission is strongly correlated with the duration and intensity of contact: the risk of transmission among household members can be as high as 40%, whereas the risk of transmission from less intense and less sustained encounters is below 5%. This finding is also borne out by recent research associating mask wearing with less transmission of SARS-CoV-2, particularly in closed settings. We therefore strongly support the calls of public health agencies for all people to wear masks when circumstances compel them to be within 6 ft of others for sustained periods."

I am so tired of this mask wearing debate... I was at a gas station the other day and the guy coming out wasn’t wearing a mask. I held the door open For him and told him to have a great day.... I couldn’t care less he was breaking the law.
Today I took my daughter out for lunch at a open air patio at a restaurant.... people wearing their masks.... then a table about 10’ away ...two women 35/40 were throwing their pizza crust in the parking lot for the seagulls ..... I lost my shit....my daughter grabbed my shirt and said hey we are having a nice lunch... I sat back down...... triggers!...go figure :)
Why? Did the seagulls not have masks?

No masks and no diapers...the birds were 5’ from our table....20 plus seagulls ... there must be 10 don’t feed the bird signs....
We live in a snotty neighborhood in Indiana..and the restaurant is at the marina. I watched the two of them send their pizza back once because it had onions on it.... then when she got her replacement she ate it with her mouth open...it was disgusting... as she finished each piece she threw her crust between us and them on the parking lot.... there are a lot of classless people with money out there and it can be really frustrating

Seagulls Lives Matter.

So I read your post last night Blueone, and I asked the Admiral, "Remember about 10 years ago when the seagull pooped on your head at the marina?" She asked why I brought it up and I gave the standard, 'IDK'.

Thanks for sharing. Truly sobering numbers showing how dangerous this virus is. Since the population of the US 70 and over is about 40 million souls, 5.4% of that number getting infected would result in about 2.1 million deaths. Shame on the MSM for not making this into headlines.
And only 200,000. Trump must be doing awesome.

Not hardly. We can also compare the US performance in containing infection and death with the rest of the world (which is operating against the same infectivity and mortality parameters and our performance has been abysmal. We have sadly racked up more cases and deaths by far than any other country on an absolute basis. Measured on a per capita basis, we are the 10-worst of 200-odd other countries and are continuing a climb towards number one on that list as well.
