Somebody just alerted me to a negative thread that was about Sea Ray and a dealer. I only had to read the first sentence to know it goes against our community standards, so I removed it. If you see posts like this in the future please alert me to them. There are about a million places online to air your grievances, CSR is not one of them. This place is for positive conversation and to be an enjoyable community for members to talk about the brand of boats they love.

Same goes for political posts. Although they can go in the holding tank. If you see any of those anywhere else let me know and I will move them. Plenty of other places to talk politics online.

This website became great because if it’s excellent combination of information and virtual dock camaraderie. Politics has become so pervasive it invades every aspect of our lives and to think that nothing political will ever come up is naïve.

Other brand forums do not have the robust exchanges and camaraderie that has been built here. The banter on many non-boating topics is what keeps many folks with knowledge here and ready to answer a question when it’s posted. If you don’t want to read a topic don’t click on it. Why is the default to remove topics you don’t like? Obviously out-of-control threads should be removed or sent to the holding tank.

Be careful what you wish for, This forum already is less active than it was 10 years ago. I would hate to see this place become another one of those dead brand focused forums.

Yes not seeing all the political whining in my feed as of late. Not sure why it seems to constantly go up in the Tiki Bar. Thank you.

so explain to me how we can talk about Covid without some of the political implications that are going along with it? Are you saying no one on here should be allowed to discuss that?

Very true! It's amazing how many other brand forums have gone essentially silent over the past few years as many moved to Facebook....but alas...the knowledge isn't there...and....well...it's Facebook.

Holding tank then, it’s that simple, anything goes in there... LOL

I'm good with this - but how do we get them to show up in the "New Posts" feed?

Seeing a thread title is that big a deal?

And they do not show and you don’t get messages when people quote or like your post.

There are a lot of political threads I ignore....for a while :)... I think these are unique times and should be given a little latitude.....I think that is the case here... plus without them it would be pretty quiet around here

I am OK with some political comments. As stated above, if it is not your thing - skip it. I do strongly feel any negativity or bashing should be reviewed and considered for removal. A bad review of a product or bad experience with a vendor should stay as it is a forum and the opinions of many on here are well received. Please don't take down ALL the non boating comments, be selective - Thanks.

It’s a civil duty in the boating community to warn mates about a bad vendor, dealer, mechanic.

Sheesus has political correctness invaded here too?
