Calling all 360 DA owners

Maybe some detail as to "day trips". Always motoring or any anchoring. I've had 4 group 31 AGM's that have worked well for our Yanmars in the 10 years we have had her.

Mea culpa.... I should have done more due diligence rather than relying on the marina to choose replacement batteries...the oe manual clearly states group 31 batteries, not the 27’s that were sold to me. The present batteries are fine, for now, but require the use of the genny to charge on overnights.....this summer with Covid restrictions and not being able to transit US waters, we have just been motoring for 1 hour, anchoring, swim, happy hour and back to the marina...next time we’ll get more capable batteries.

I was looking at a 360 that is currently for sale in CT. While looking the boat over, I noticed the door closing off the forward stateroom would not close all the way. It pulled out (toward the port side, but the second panel seemed to hang up on the first panel. Basically I could pull the door closed to the 1/2 way point and no further.

The broker was not sure if it was broken or if there's something that needs to be pulled or pushed to release a latch allowing the door to fully extend into the closed position. Could anyone confirm if that forward door should slide closed in one motion, or does a button or latch need to be pushed/pulled?
TIA

The door setup on our 2002 model is held closed by a plastic snap that covers both door sections... unsnap that, pull the forward section across to close, then approximately half way, the second section should follow to fully close off the v berth.
It sounds like the second section has come off the track. Is there any up/down play?
I can have another look at our boat tomorrow if it helps.

yes the second portion of door dose not move past where the first portion stops, and it also has a good amount of play. I figured something was wrong, but didn’t want to mess with it too much in fear of making it worse.

I used a large screwdriver and gently pried the door up and over on to the track. It took a second to figure out the problem. Lay flat on the floor with a flashlight and look under the door. You will see how it works

Thanks for the tip. I’m gonna go back and look at the boat again this weekend and I’ll give that a try.

Looking to replace the 2 pair of Sony speakers in the cockpit. Any recommendations? Not looking to share the music with boats anchored 100 yards away. Just a good set of speakers.

First upgrade we did when we bought our boat. Replaced all original cockpit speakers with JL Audio. Also replaced the badly blown subwoofer with a JL at the same time. Night and day sound difference.

Again yes welcome Bihnge Worthy, I also stepped up to a 360 this past summer. Few more issues to fix than I expected but with the help of these guys most if not all of my projects are taken care of. Have saved well over $1,000 due to tips and tricks. These guys are GREAT!!!!

Hot water heater question. When I winterized recently I noticed my heater is not heated by the engine heat, only 120 v electric heated. Is this how all other 360's are configured?

Last question, when I drained the hot water heater it did not drain into the engine bilge, maybe the drain passage was blocked; had to vacuum it out. Add this project to my list.......

My water heater is shore power or generator powered only. Don't know about winterizing it.

My first post to this group. Bihnge Worthy here , 2005 360 DA, picked it up in July 2020, replaced a 2006 320. Love this 360. Nice to find a dedicated thread for what seems to be a short member list.
Welcome to the site. This was my first season with the 360 and have also found a wealth information on CSR. Best of luck with the new boat.

Thanks

Thanks for the feedback. I was looking at JL, and the next line up on Sony.

It should drain right to the aft bilge. If you follow the water lines, you will see them go down from the front of the heater, and aft to the bulkhead. You should see a large amount of caulk around these lines, as they pass thru the wall. If water filled up the space where the heater is, something is blocked up.

Looking for plug wires for my 8.1's. Part # is 84-8M0117678. I'm seeing prices out there for around $490!! Is there an ACDelco equivalent, or another option?

Also, other than Amazon, where do you purchase your holding tank filter? These seem to go up every year as well. This year, $130 from the dealer. I see a couple of options on Amazon - $43 for a Voker filter, and $91-$99 for Dometic.

You can recharge yours easily. Cut it and dump the charcoal. New charcoal at pet stores. It’s PVC so you can customize it
