The Admiral gave me my orders, The steps to below are a killer on my legs and she's right! Add a third Step. I think a normal rise is 8" these are 12". Has any one done this or thought of doing it?

Added 2 steps so as to end up with 4 steps total. Will get pics this weekend. Used a 3 step stringer on each side, reversed its mounting to fit.

Great thanks can't wait to see pic.:) Don't know why they went with this design !
 
Four steps. Still some detailing yet. It took some engineering to be able to install a four step system and keeping the steps from going to far into the galley.

The 4 step system is designed to be fully removable. The steps are made to be interlocking. Removing the bottom step then allows the rest of the steps to be removed.
 
Here’s a photo of what I did to make 3 steps.....makes it a lot easier on the knees.

I made the toe kicks on these all removable using cabinet magnetic latches, I wasn’t sure they would hold while traveling but after 3 years none of them have moved during rough seas.
