When the switch is pushed, you can hear the air "leaking". If the solenoid was bad, would we still hear that?

Tim

I think it’s possible if the solenoid wasn’t fully opening and providing enough air. But to me, I’m thinking it’s the diaphragm. They do sell replacements but you may first try removing the back plate of the horn which holds the diaphragm in place. Try cleaning it. Take note there may be a small drain hole in the diaphragm and you want to reinstall it in the same location. Good luck.

My horn was starting to sound a little weak. Tried cleaning the diaphragm (which usually helps). Ultimately called the manufacturer (below). They quickly said it needs the new repair kit $30 or so. I did have to figure out the correct part number and version horn we had which required a few back and forth reviews of drawings.

FWIW, before ordering, or at least installing any parts, I would get up on the hardtop and spray WD-40 into the reeds. That solved an identical problem I had with my Kahlenberg horn

I need to replace the seal on the bowl of my head. Good suction so I know it’s at the ball seal but Forgot to take a picture of my head before I left the boat. 2009 electric push button flush and I believe it’s a dometic 4100. Anyone confirm this or know the part I’m talking about?

Im planning on replacing my horns with a set of train horns and a larger tank/compressor I have on hand. Not as good as NOS but im sure to get a few looks LOL

First night on the boat!

First problem on the boat.....Master toilet light is red. other toilet is fine. I’m used to a vacuflush with no lights. What makes it turn red?

You have a leak in your Vacuflush system. When they reach pressure the switch on the pump turns it green to show you are ready to flush. You will need to start with duckbills and check the bellows. Work your way to the bowl seals. I am working on one now.

That’s what I figured.
Thanks

I’m sure I’ll have a gazillion more....

Where is the switch for the engine room lights?

In the bank of switches To the right of the slider as you go out of the salon.

Sorry for being the guy with a million questions....

Both toilets won’t flush. On the panel, the red 1/2 flashes periodically. Should it always be on solid rather than flashing here and there?

It should be solid, not flashing.

Allright, talk me through this. Neither vacuum pump is making noise. When they are switched off, then on, the amp meter on the main panel does not move. This along with them making no noise, suggests they aren't getting power. Tripped breaker? If so, where? But, the lights on the indicator in the bathroom are red. If they weren't getting power, wouldn't they be off? If its the duckbill or an air leak wouldn't the pump keep trying to build pressure?

They Will both not run if the tank is full. The fluid level sensors In the tank get dirty and if dirty the level gauge is not accurate. Put a flashlight the side of the tank and see if it’s full or not.

I unplugged the wiring harness and plugged it back in. Bingo! Toilets working!

That’s good. Maybe just a loose connection.
